Sealing PUL embroidery

Hopefully someone here can answer this. My Mom has a embroidery sewing machine, so she put a bunch of cute designs on PUL for me so I can make AIO's for my kids. Before I do that I want to seal the PUL so the diapers don't wick through the embroidery thread. I do have an embroidered Fuzzi Bunz, where there's a square of PUL placed over the back of the design. I believe I've heard that it's ironed on? That PUL will stick to itself if ironed? Anyone know how hot to set the iron and if there's anything special I should know???

I don't think it's ironed - I think ironing PUL would ruin it.

Thanks for the link! Since i"m making these diapers from scratch, I can do it that way. I was wondering about ironing though, because of the embroidered FB from Peachie Baby- there's a layer of PUL "stuck" there; I guess I should just email her and ask her how she did it.

I heard back from Danielle at Peachie Baby, and she does iron the PUL pieces together! She said to get the iron really hot and just do the edges, being careful not to cause wrinkles (which would happen if you iron too close to the design).

Just wanted to come back and let you all know in case anyone else was wondering how to do it.

Another way to do it is to cut a large piece of PUL and line the back half of the diaper with it, shiny sides together. You can attach it at the waist and back part of the legs. That's how my embroidered pocket VB from Snuggle You is done. HTH!

Yeah, you can iron it, but you have to be prety careful. I have been using a diaper for about 6 weeks now that I sewed and embroidered (using the iron method) and it's still good as new.
