Me too!
I went for my first appointment this week at 10 1/2 weeks. It was great! So amazing to hear the heartbeat. I did find out, however, that I have to have bi-weekly ultrasounds starting at 14 weeks due to a gyny procedure I had years ago that may have weakened my cervix. It's probably fine, but I'm glad they are doing them, in spite of my initial desire to have only one ultrasound. I'd rather undergo ultrasound overkill than have the baby fall out early. If they find weakening, they will stitch me closed. But I can't help but think "darn them for doing a procedure that is now causing more procedures." That's modern medicine, right?

Ugh.. I guess that is good. You'd think YOU could check your own darn cervix with your fingers (unless it decides to move too far anterior, hehe). At least you can tell the US technician to be as quick as possible about it all.

I send ya vibes that it stays happily together until baby wants out!

I had my first appointment two weeks ago, but I didnt get to hear the HB or aynthing...My midiwfe and I just sort of sat and talked and went through some papers and all that stuff. I go again on Wendesday September 7th and I just cant wait. This time I get to hear the heartbeat I am sure since I will be into my 12th week. Here is to hoping everything is well. I am opting not to have any US or anything unless there is a problem along the way but if it isnt broke dont fix it is my theroy...*smiles*..My midwife says that their practice doesnt do a whole lot of US, so thats good for me. I look forward to talking to her more abotu water birth and all of that. I feel like this next appointment is actully going to be amazing because it will be more real to me I think. Up till this point it was in the back of my head that I could MC.. when you make it this far...the major threat is almost over...this is real ladies...we made it this far! what an amazing journey.....
Ok I am rambling.

I don't know exactly what procedure you had, but I had a LEEP several years before my first birth. With dd, the drs had me come biweekly for manual checks (no U/S) from a certain point on....I think 24 weeks, maybe? This time around, the midwife said I just should have a vaginal U/S at 16 weeks (I think) and that's it. So the "protocol" for you may vary depending on your provider. Good luck to you!
