Happy Chanukkah--from a goy!

Well, I'm in a loving all inclusive mood.

Here's a little ditty from my LI public school musical education--

O Hanukkah, O Hanukkah
Come light the menorah
Let's have a party
We'll all dance the horah
Gather round the table, we'll give you a treat
Su-id-num to play with, le-vi-vot to eat (sp!)
And while we are playing
The candles are burning low
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of days long ago
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of days long ago...

For Ramadan

The Five Pillars

(1) We pray five times a day

We pray it everyday

God told everyone

to pray five times a day.

(2) We give to Charity

We give as best we can.

God told everyone

to give to charity

(3) We 'll go to Hajj one day

God willing, we'll all go.

God told everyone

to go to Hajj one day.

(4) We fast one month a year.

We fast it every year.

God told everyone

to fast one month a year.

(5) We worship God alone.

We worship only God.

God told everyone

to worship God alone.

Um, DD, I understand you wanting to extend the inclusiveness, mabey a "happy chanukah" as well would have been appropriate on this thread. Umnuh stared a ramadan thread awhile ago.

Oops I misread the title, thinking it was an inclusive thread to wish everyone from different religions a happy holiday from their country. I didn't include a Happy Chanukkah because it had already been done, so I was using a different religion. But now I read the thread title and see my error, sorry

Thx, BB. Mmmm..delicious! I am a potato freak.

Please accept some chocolate geld!

Now you strike me as a rather serious and religious woman, but do you like that Adam Sandler song? "Put on your yamulkah, it's time for Hanukkah?" I find it cute and kind of empowering!

I like it! and the second one too.
I am really not that serious, really.

Thanks DarylLLL!

I lit the candles with our neighbor the other night and realized how lonely this holiday usually is for us (far from home, don't know many Jewish families). It's very sweet of you!

Bring it on, DiaperDiva! All are welcome!

I'd like to add that aside from liking the Sandler song, "Lonely Jew" from South Park cheers me up every time...do you know it? I am however, somewhat horrified by the looks of the new Channukah movie. Ugh.

What about the "dredel" song from South Park?
