Does Fold Over Elastic Wic?

That's what I'm asking, If I use fold over elastic will it wick moisture?

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. The thin satin-faced kind seems to be more prone to wicking than the thick 1" white kind. The biggest indicator of wicking for me is the inner and outer fabrics. If the inner fabric is cotton or hemp and gets saturated, the FOE may wick. If the inner fabric is polyester and the soaker pad/insert gets saturated the FOE may wick. If the outer layer is cotton, wicking is more likely.

So the combination least likely to wick (IMHO) is a plain polyester PUL or fleece outer with a polyester (suedecloth or fleece) inner, using thick 1" FOE. The most likely to wick would be a decorative cotton outer fabric over hidden PUL with a cotton inner, like velour or flannel, bound with narrow satin-faced FOE.

Any diaper can wick if it gets wet enough, but I use FOE for all my daughter's daycare pocket AIOs (with a cotton inner, PUL outer) and they have worked great with no wicking at all. Some people also use the wash-in waterproofing from Nikwax on all their FOE before using it.

IMO FOE wicks like crazy. I haven't tried a ton of different ones but the ones I have tried do wick. It's less of a factor id=f you're making a cover or a fitted but always gave me fits if I tried to make a FOE AIO.
