Spoke to mum lastnight who lives in New Zealand, i'll be taking my son over there on the 12th dec... He'll be 16mths then.. I have decided that either when we come back in January or when we go to mum's we'll start :toilet training 
We'll be doing it straight on the :toilet otherwise he would have to learn twice, once on the potty and once for standing up.
I'll be getting a potty seat to go under the adult seat though and a block for him to stand on.
I have it sussed
He's already in :toilet training pants with adult bladder control pads in (he's been in those and out of nappies since he was 1.)
