Concerned about overheating! ack! eep!

I took a nap last night and pulled a heavy, down blankie over me. Why? I donno- maybe I had a chill... Its summer in FLorida. no need for down! I woke up and felt sweaty and a little yucky in my stomach and then thought that maybe I overheated myself. I thought about this AFTER I got in the shower and had cooled off some, or I would have taken my temperature... I know its dangerous for the little bean for me to get too hot. I am hoping all is ok.... ack!!!

From what I've read, your temp would have to stay pretty high (over 101, I think) for a long time for there to be any risk to your baby. I doubt you could heat your core temperature that much for that long just by napping under a warm blanket. It seems to me that your body gave you a warning (which you heeded) -- I'm sure all is well.

It's so hard not to worry, though, isn't it?

Thanks, Tine...
I do worry excessively, I know...
I just want everything to go right and anytime something that could be deemed as "bad" happens, I get a little freaked.

Along these same lines I have been having terrible neck pain for 3 days. I have been putting a heating pad on my neck for about 30 mins before bed and 30 mins in the morning. It is way up on my neck, nowhere near the baby.....I hope that is ok....... I also massaged some natural 'ben gay' into it...the main ingredient was menthol like Vicks, hope that was ok.

I'm no expert, but it sure sounds harmless to me!
