Can you do this on a regular sewing machine? If so, how?

It takes a specialty foot to do but can be done. I have seen them at Nancy's Notions or Clothilde Catalogs. It does take some practice with the foot and is challanging around curves but are very possible. Threads Magazine Issue #60 has a good article that you might be able to find at the library.
