Plan-Homebirth if I can find a provider in the area!!

I just got married on New Years Eve and Dh and I moved to Asheville, NC. I love it here!! We bought a house in June and should be moving in in September. I am 27 and I'm am a recovering L&D nurse. I had to quit because of the interventions I was expected to do. I was conflicted every night I went to work to the point that I started having panic attacks. So I quit, moved here and now work in a very cool OB/GYN practice that employs 4 midwives. they don't do HB though!! I still can't believe I am pregnant!! But Dh and I wanted a baby for a few years now and I feel like this is a good time!!
I can't wait to share this amazing journey with you mamas!!!

I'm Celeste, 32, and ttc (this time) for 5 years, since dh and I got together. For the past year+ since an ectopic, we've been seeing an RE because I have PCOS and now only one tube left. I am stunned that I am finally pregnant, but I am expecting that now that the hurdle of getting the bfp is done, I will just relax and trust this process! This is marriage #2 for me, and in my first, I wasn't able to conceive at all, so this is a major deal for me internally. All I've ever really wanted for my adult life is to be a mom.

A couple other things, dh and I live just outside Philadelphia, and while I am originally from MA and white, he is from China. So, we'll have a bicultural, biracial babe! We're so excited!

We live in an apartment that is way too small for us to bring a baby in to! I work ft as does dh, who is also in school. He'd hoped to go to school full-time starting in January, so we'll see what happens! We plan to move to China when he is done with school, as we much prefer living over there.

We don't have any family in the area, so if we end up having multiples (a good chance, given my treatment this month), we may ask his sister come with her little daughter from China to stay with us and help out.

I love knitting, sewing, and other crafty projects, though I am hoping to avoid making my cd's! dh is going to China for the 1st time in 3 years next week, so I hope he can bring some back for cheap!

ok, I guess that's me in much more than a nutshell... I'm just so excited to be here!!!

Looks great Celeste, thanks for setting it up and maybe twins or more how exciting

My little bit about me as I forgot in my earlier post

I'm Carrie (28) and mama to one gorgeous little boy who is nearly 3.5. We ttc 4yrs for DS and 1yr for this babe so I am just on cloud9 right now. I have been a SAHM since ds was born and thoroughly enjoy it. I completed part of my doula training earlier this year and hope that in the future it will be something I can manage around my family. DH and I have been together 9years this October
I love veggie cooking, yoga and taking part in meditations and teachings at our local buddhist centre.

So happy we are all here sharing our pregnancies

Hi ladies! I'm Erica, 30 years old, married to my 31-year-old DH for 3 years now. We're both electrical engineers living in the San Francisco Bay Area, although I'm leaning towards quitting my job when this baby comes. We'll see what happens, though, since living expenses in this area are astronomical.

We were extremely fortunate to have conceived on our very first try -- although I'm not so sure DH sees it the same way. He probably would have liked a few more months of trying. :LOL

I'm looking forward to spending the next nine months with all of you, and praying for sticky, healthy, happy pregnancies for us all!

Hi everyone,
I am Heather and I am so excited to finally be here on the due dates board. We have been ttc forever and I was just starting to give up hope. I have already had 2 c-sections, the first justified, the second I was pushed into very last minute after I was supposively backed by my OB for a VBAC. I think I am going to have a hard time finding someone willing to do a V2BAC now, especially since I have so much scar tissue and my uterus is adhered to my bladder. I am trying to push all that away at the moment and just revel in the fact that I am pregnant again I have a 7yo ds and a 3yo ds already. Its kind of funny when I am due, my ds2 will be around 2 weeks older than ds1 was when he was born. Seems like that is the fertile time for me

Birthplan: Homebirth, considdering waterbirth.

As I said, My name is Yvon, 28, Dutch, WAHM (knitting mainly at the moment, too sick for sewing, just finished babies first clothes!) Homebirthing is the norm in my country. DS was born naturally in hospital because of health concerns. He turned out to have minor motorskills issues and being a HCC. DD was almost born at home unassisted. The midwife caught her with her coat still on. Nursing unfortunately isn't the norm. Both were breastfed as best as I could having tubular breast and mayor supply issues. I nursed both with an SNS to supplement. This year a MMnetwork started over here and I hope to be able to use it when this baby gets here and ofcourse to spend the next 9 months chatting with you ladies if you'll have me!

Hi everyone!

user name: norasmom
real name: Jesi
Due date: April 8th (but I'ld rather think "mid april" instead of pinning my hopes on one date)
Child #: 2
Sex: surprise!!
Birthplan: At home,tub available

Celeste- Thanks for putting this together & maintaining it for us!

I am so excited to be pregnant again. We've been talking about getting pregnant for a few months now, but this month is our first month of "trying." Dh wishes that we would have had more practice sessions, but I'm sure we can make that up.

My dd is 2, she just had her birthday this week and I think she is going to be a great big sister. Obviously we aren't going to be talking to her about it too musch for several months, but it is really exciting to think about how a new baby will change her as well as the rest of the family.

I'm a little ashamed to admit that one of the best parts about being pregnant again is that I get to buy more cloth diapers. I know, I have the ones that i used with dd, but I want to try some other systems, so I might be in the trading post soon looking to swap some fluff.

Another thing I'm really excited about is having a homebirth. I had a natural birth in the hospital with dd and this time I will be giving birth at home with my good friend who is also a midwife attending!! I think I might be one of the only women in America to think "This is going to be so much fun!" when I think about birth.

I have been working out side & at home for the past year or so, and I just put in my notice. I am so excited about working less. I will be watching my friends newborn a few days a week later this fall and doing some office work from home for another friend, but I'll have infinately more time to just hang out with dd and get ready for our new addition.

Any way, it looks like I've rambled on way more than I need to.

I look forward to getting to know everyone much better in the next 9 months!!

Hi all! I'm so excited to be here! Great idea with this thread!

User Name: cathysteck
Real Name: Cathy
Due Date:April 16th, it could land on one of several relative's birthday's, I'm sure we'll have lots of betting going on
Preg #: 2
Child #:1
Sex: I think it's going to be a boy
Birthplan: Homebirth, possible waterbirth since we have a big tub.

I'm 29 and dh is 37 and we have been married for 5 yrs and trying for 2.5. He had sperm issues. He likes to take hot baths and was killing the little suckers and he had semen that would take 45 minutes to release the sperm instead of 0 to 20minutes so he is on Vit. C for that. Me, I had thyroid issues and not a long enough LP. This last month I think we got lucky. I didn't think I was going to ovulate until the 18th or 19th day and did so on the 15th. That same day we GIO and I was thinking I had a couple days until we really needed to try. Even went to the bathroom right after. How crazy is that to get pregnant with not even trying. I was shocked!
woohoo! Yeah for us! Dh is still in shock. I think he will be until the child is 2.
I want to have a homebirth, just need to give dh more reassurance for the next 9 months. I had dairy goats in HS and was there with every delivery and knew how natural it was and how uncomplicated it didn't have to be. If they can do it I can too. I'm so excited, especially because I don't have to worry about driving home after birthing.
I'm a farmer and raise organic crops and free range chickens for eggs and have angora's for thier mohair. I'm going to be quilting and spinning all winter long. I don't know if I will be selling at farmer's though next year.
My dh sells Harley Davidson's and is going in for an interview for a job for the county next week. Benefits and retirement plan. :

Well, that is me. I'm : for very baby vibes for everyone!

Birthplan: Homebirth with CNM or hopital birth with same midwife. Haven't decided yet...

Hi everybody. I was here pretty early on but then we went out of town to my mom's for about a week and her computer crashed. I'm really excited about this baby. I've had some very faint brown spotting (but it's more like smudging) the last few days, that really freaked me out. I've talked to my midwife, and she said to try not to worry and to trust that my body knows what it's doing. I look forward to getting to know all of you better throughout our next 9 months!
