Serger help

Thread Starter
I just bought a Bernina serger (used). I threaded as instruction. But when running, the needles penetrate into fabric, WITHOUT any threads. In other words, the threads are not looped together. Anybody knows what could be the reason?

TIA.

is the presser foot down?
when you thread it are all the threads tucked in the right place?

can you find a local shop who could give you a quick how to?

Yes, I put the presser foot down. All the threads are in their place. But when running, the threads are not looping together. There is no chain of thread.

That happened to me once. I had to pull everything out and start over with the threading. Triple-check each thread. Otherwise, I might go on a site specifically for expert home sewers. Try Martha Pullen--they have a pretty active discussion board and you're more likely to find someone with your specific machine.

I sent the machine to the dealer. It's timing problem. It'll take 2 weeks for repair.

on the timing being off, but the good news is that you weren't doign anything wrong.
