Tom of Maine's Toothpaste - Alumminium bottles?

Does anybody have a problem with Tom of Maine's use of aluminium on their toothpaste containers? They claim it has a plastic liner so that it doesnt contact the toothpaste but I am wondering if this is truly safe? I try to stay away from aluminium as much as possible and I was bummed when I opened to box to see that this is what the bottle was made off.

Any thoughts?

TOM's "liquid" toothpastes come in a recyclable plastic container, rather than the recyclable aluminum tube.
