okay I finally 'got real' with myself...
but I thought about selling the extra stuff but really....
I don't want to waste any more time on my 'junk'
and might feel better to have some of it go to people in 'need'.

How do I find someone in 'need'?
Really?

Well

You could try battered women's shelters, Churches, or you can leave near the trash, someone "needy" will come along. I'd get rid of my perfectionism, and bless someone, ANYONE, with the wealth.

Check the TP - some people post ISO's - you can also post a FFS. lots of moms here are living from day to day - I used to be one of them 'till I moved in w/ mom!

=Oh its not that I want to give to someone 'needy' rather someone who might use the stuff, like a friend might take something just to be 'nice' cause they feel they can't say no....sigh.

I don't live in the type of 'hood people would pick up anything if you left it by the trash.... I am also speaking mainly of clothing etc.

Whats a FFS?

Also try freecycle - there are lots of clothes freecycled in my area, and I got some nice shirts for school - just post something like "bag of women's clothes size 11/12 - good condition" (or great for painting clothes, or something about the condition)

Women's shelters can always use women's and kids clothing; sometimes a woman will just have to grab her kids and run, and won't have much (or sometimes anything) in the way of changes of clothes. They also need bedding and towels and stuff like that, usually.

In a word- Freecycle!

I love freecycle!!! I am an active member, with that said, many members are not needy. If needy is your mission then I'd suggest calling around, churches, womens shelters, soup kitchen, or food bank could point you in the right direction.

Well I am going to make his Thomas the tank engine day.
and they want some of my extra sheets, towels etc.

and my friend just left with one big bag of my old clothes.

Yeah! Freecycle Rocks!!

Heck yeah on Freecycle!

Find a group in your local area
at Freecycle.org

I moderate the DuBois, PA group and last march,
my biz sponsored a Free Clothing Drive.

IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!! you would not believe
how MANY clothes that were given away!

AND HOW MUCH WAS LEFT OVER!!

the leftovers went to charities, a church and goodwill.
there was plenty to go around.

Everyone in our group wants me to throw another
free clothing drive / swap and I'd totally be up for it sooner
if I would have more HELP & volunteers!
It was a fun but daunting event to accomplish but WELL worth it.
I'm going to do it again, but NOT until next March.

I need time to recover!

Go Freecycle!
