Leaking fluid?

I am curretnly 39 weeks with my third child. I started to leak amniotic fluid last night (took me a while to be sure, thought at first I might be having urinary problems). It is just a tiny bit every now and then. But enough to wear a poise pad. I called my midwife and since I've had nothing else going on, no bloody show, no contractions, no cramps, she said to just keep her posted.

With my first child I had a big gush when my water broke and I had to wear those diaper like things. This is so different. Is there any sort of timing that comes along with this? Like can I expect a baby soon or can this leaking go on for days????

I am so ready for this baby and am trying not to get my hopes too high. Especially if leaking isn't the same as having the water break. Hope that all made sense. Any insight appreciated!

My first one I just had 'leaking' and then he was born shortly after that.

But, it is possible to have a high 'leak' and not fully break the bag of water. It can go on for days. Sorry!!! I have an IRL friend who had a planned c-section and she was leaking fluid for several days before it.

hmmm...bummer. I was hoping this might mean the baby would be born today. I guess it's back to waiting patiently!
