Dakota Rayne was born Wed August 10th at 11:15 am. I'm dissapointed to
report I did not end up getting my UC but DID manage a 100% drug free
VBAC!I labored at home with my mom, DH and good friend for most of it
(Oh did I mention we had 3 toddlers here as well!?!?!hahaha- I will save that story for
another time!) but we ended up transfering for meconium at the end and
I ended up with placenta acretia (msp?), a 4th degree tear and a D&C.
oh and a helicopter transfer (they thought I was going to
need transfusions and an emergency hysterectomy which thankfully did
not happen-my uterus is fine and they got all of the placenta out & I
did not hemmorage)...still processing it all and feeling pretty beat
up but am in good spirits that I did get my VBAC!!I did it! it was
hard but not as hard as I thought it was going to be. I am in one
peice and baby and I are now home (we were in 2 seperate hospitals
which was really hard as I was airlifted immedietly after the D&C &
only saw/held her very breifly and did not get to nurse at all until
Friday night) but the good news is baby is BF great in spite of it
all, she was just full of meconium at birth (Luckily she did not
aspirate any though!) and was suctioned quite a bit. I guess here
stomach/mouth was just full of it. otherwise I'm just trying to heal
from the tear and still waiting for my milk to come in and and we
took her off the formula yesterday as they were cup feeding her in the
hospital. she latched right on though before she was even discharged
and is doing so well. I was so worried, so am much relieved so far. my
17mo seems to be in love with the baby and is just completley
fascinated!
anyway that's about it for now...I will post a more detailed birth
story when I am more coherent and can process things a bit more.
thanks you so much for all your support ladies!

Very sorry you and she had to go through all of that, but I'm glad she's well.
Congratulations!
