Staff at Hampton Court Palace told Margaret Mikkelsen, 30, to use the mother and baby room if she wished to continue feeding her six-month-old daughter Stella. Miss Mikkelsen said the order, which came from a woman warder, left her self-conscious and upset.

I sent a comment, but forgot to copy it here. But needless to say I was not very kind to the people suggesting mothers shouldn't nurse in public. I hope they print it.

I commented about how lately it seems that people, even out in public spaces, assume others are responsible for their personal comfort - the second a mother begins to nurse her baby, all of a sudden it's her job to also make everyone around them comfortable? Just because she's carrying out a normal everyday parenting activity. Makes no sense.

I did like that the palace spokes person was very clear that the nursing rooms are there but that no one has to use them if they don't feel like it.
