I posted here recently about my being told not to nurse poolside. I'm working with the city to get a pool-specific breastfeeding policy and to post it for both staff and patrons to see.
I wrote an op/ed piece for the local paper and it is up today! Here it is:

I'm excited. I am hoping that this will raise awareness and help make real systemic change. My goal is to meet with the mayor and get him to make breastfeeding-access clear to all of his department heads and possibly do a breastfeeding-friendly city intiative.
It's great to have a strong state law, but if no-one knows about it, it doesn't do nearly as much good as it could.
