A friend of mine told me today that she was recently humiliated and run out of a local park by a police officer for nursing her child in public. She told the officer that she wasn't doing anything illegal, she was feeding her child, what was wrong with that? He told her it was against the law!! She offered to cover up (she had her daycare kids with her and she didn't want to have to make them stop playing and cause an even bigger scene), but he told her she needed to leave or he'd arrest her!
Where can I go to find out what our state and local laws are concerning a nursing mother's rights? This is awful, really, and needs to be changed.
