yesterday I went to Walmart with my Mom, she needed a few things. Anyway, while she was checking out I sat down the bench right there by all the checkouts, ds wanted to nurse, so of course I obliged. I'm in Fl and I dare them to say something. Ds is 14 months and 28 lbs so looks pretty big, lol. Anyway, we're sitting there nursing and I feel someone looking at me, so I look up and find a woman watching me, I smiled and she looked away. I thought uh oh, but then she looks back and smiles and said " I miss that" they grow up so fast" She had a son with her who look to be around 10. I just grinned from ear to ear. So nice to hear something supportive, in Walmart of all places, lol.

I've nursed several times at the WalMart here, adn it's been a positive experience every time. I've nured on teh benches by the layaway and back bathrooms, usually no one is there, so no one sees me. I nursed in the fitting room once cuz it was the closest place to sit down. The outer benches were gone (they've been remodelling) and the lady who worked there offered me a bottle of water!!! I also nursed more than once on the benches at the front of the store. The first time was when ds was very very little adn an old man came and sat next to me and just talked about his kids adn the weather. I think he was just trying to keep me company. LOL! It was kinda sweet. It seems that most of the older women in this area nursed their kids. Maybe because it's such a strong farming community. Dunno.

I remember the first time I NIP without covering up. It was at a Cirque du Soeli show and the woman in front of me turned around and I covered up my breast right away. She told me not to cover up and that it was a beautiful thing.
I just wish more people would agree with that.
