mama cloth fabric question

I am making some mama cloth and having a hard time deciding on the leak proof part. (I'm making them 2 parts, one the absorbant pad and then a seperate holder that the pads snap onto)

I was thinking wool holders, but I don't want to have to hand wash.
I'm confused by fleece...some is waterproof and some isn't?

What should I use?

The heavier fleece (200 wt and 300wt) is very water resistant. I make AIO pads and use fleece as the barrier fabric and have never had an issue with leaking. HTH!
