Hey Garden~I'll get around to reading your article as I have not done so yet.
I think as you've said before and I've read numerous places... The problem comes from combining fat and carbs. I simply choose to eat carbs over fat.
I have many sources I respect (including you) saying eliminate grains and or carbs and you'll be healthier. I read eat for your type and it states depending on your blood type you should eat a certain way Im type O and supposedly fat is not an issue for me. But, I know from personal experience that it is major. If I eat more than 25 grams per day, I gain.
All I know is what works for mua. I feel healthiest when I eat less fat. Fat carries all the toxins from the enviroment etc...so it would make sense.
I didnt feel healthy eating low carbs. I was nausious and had a perpetual headache. They say thats normal? I disagree. Also, I have to do whats best for the family overall. My dh is a type 1 diabetic, and I dont want to experiment with his health KWIM? I also have a 4yo dd who is learning how to eat from her mama. I may be wrong in following the main stream low fat ways. But, I do it for the following reasons. 1. I believe in eating both fruits and vegies. 2. I love wonderful breads. 3. I want to eat with my family. 4. Its easiest, our world has lots of low fat whole fresh foods in nature and I love em. mmmm soup and fresh hot bread! Are you sold...
I have no doubt that Id lose lots on a low carb diet. I did it for 2 days once and lost 4 pounds, only to gain it back with in 2 days. I just dont think I'd want to eat like that for my entire life.
*we all need to find our way, right* I had to listen to my body....
Carry on Garden and friends. And, we will support eachother in our new found health, be it low carb or low fat!!!
Also, I lost a bit of weight, so I am encouraged. And, Im firming the ol mid section!
Love to my 'lovin thyselves' friends. I shall read your article later as Im off to WALK, YEA!
The zone sounds reasonable however, and hollywood is 'thinner' for it. So, give it a whirl.
I do also think I needed 'more' protien then I was getting before. I eat balanced meals now, including protien.
