anyone currently nursing?

My 2 1/3 yo is still nursing and until yesterday I was thinking about how lucky I am that my breasts aren't sore.
Well-all that changed yesterday--they are soo sore!!
It's not unbearable but I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do to soothe them.
I am thinking lanolin isn't going to help since they aren't cracked/bleeding and it's just pregnancy tenderness??
Anyone else going through this?

Popin in from the January club. I'm nursing my 2 year old dd and at first it wasn't sore at all. I thought I was one of those lucky ones. Not to be. : Now at 19 weeks its VERY sore for me. I think you're right, I doubt lanolin would work. Hang in there mama, you aren't alone!

We are still nursing but I am not sure for how much longer. I am exhausted and the pain is great. It makes me sad for my dd because I know she loves her time nursing but I am selfish and just not enjoying the pain. DD also says my milk is funny now- I am sure she means it tastes funny to her.

we are i really hope to be able to continue. i'm still so early in the pg that i have no symptoms or anything, so i have no breast soreness. i'm just going to see how it goes and hope for the best.

Still Nursing but sore!

I thought I was going to make it through pain free, but I also become really sore about a week ago - tenderness, not the early days of nursing split/bleeding nipples.

i agree that it's not a lansinoh solution (sigh)

I hope to work through it, but I continually ahve to tell my 26 month DS to be 'gentle' while he's nursing. OUCH!

I am still nursing our 13 month old ds. I love it! I am not ready at all to give it up, but my doc is already telling me to wean by 12 weeks . I'm going to tell him I'm not going to if he asks me again. I don't think he will push the issue.

my dd is almost 16 mos and we are still nursing

my breasts are getting tender but mainly on the left side.

I was planning to wean at 2, but I am expecting on 4/30 and my DD is 2 on 4/28

I don't think that tandem nursing would be for me, but we'll see i got a long way to go still before I need to worry about that.

<3 greenbean!!
how are you momma

JAMIE!!!!!!!!!!

I had to do a double take when I saw your post! :LOL

I am so excited we are having babies at the same time and both of us are still nursing. I don't think Snuggs is going to go much longer though because my milk is very minimal right now.

Just like nursing isn't for everyone- tandem nursing isn't either. I am not sure how I feel about it or that Snuggs will even be interested in 7 months from now. Okay well that was a fib- just thinking about tandem nursing makes me exhausted!

Does anyone else feel like they have more milk now that they are pregnant? My little ds is so happy that he has given up solids and has had a few breast milk poop dipers. Last pregnancy I lost my milk around 3 months. It doesn't look like I am going to lose it anytime soon.

I am still nursing my 16 month old. I am actually hoping that she will self-wean during the pregnancy. Especially since she is still waking in the bight for BFs. I definately don't think I have the energy to tandem nurse (especially if the new baby is anything like DD was and a round the clock nurser). I would quite like a little break from nursing before the baby comes (I know that's selfish of me).

Having said that I am not keen to force the issue with DD and we will see what the second trimester brings in terms of my feelings (i.e. I will be feeling physically a lot better then so my attitude may have changed. Right now I am feeling sick as a dog and in need of sleep).

I hear you on that one, that was my thoughts, we were surprised to have a BFP this time around, since we have been so well planned with our other 2.

My biggest concern is that my DD will be mean towards the baby , since she smacks daddy when he tries to mess with her and play the mine game with my breasts hehe.

yea it's pretty exciting to be pregnant together! After all; these years, having our rotation out of whack is nice I am still recovering from the shock of it all
