gifts I have made

I have crocheted scarves for family and friends, I used to make scrunchies for my mom and friends. Last year I made tote bags with matching travel pillows for the car out of micro-fleece. This year I have made a few baby doll afghans for the little girls we gift with. I have not time to read all of these replies, but I am working on it. Next year I will make aprons for the kids.

i am making my mom a boutique type tote bag for carrying her VERY spoiled yorkshire around in.

my oldest ds is finally getting his denim raggy quilt...my dd is helping me with it and ooohhhh doesnt she just LOVE cutting out all the squares from the jeans...not!

my dd is going to be surprised with a new pair of totally cool and embellishment laden bell bottomed blue jeans.

i am making youngest ds a jean jacket with a motorcycle embroidered on the back, and a matching pair of robeez like 'motorcycle boots' embroidered to match the jacket...he is totally in love with motorcycles to the point of throwing a fit when he sees one parked somewhere and cant just go over and hop on! lol

i am going to embroider some different things for some others on my list, and make dh a pair of embroidered sponge bob boxers with a matching shirt...yes he actually loves sponge bob.

i loved reading what everyone is making...you guys are so talented!

My husband is making sets of branch furniture for our dd - age 5 - I am going to sew little pillows and knit rugs, etc... And I will make a family of bendy dolls for it.

I am crocheting each of the children a Game Boy carrying case (their grandfather has been so kind to provide each child with one - they can use them for limited time on Saturdays).

I am knitting/crocheting a doll for our little one (18 Months)

Crocheting a placemat set for my mother and her husband.

We are making branch block matching game sets for neices and nephews.

Knitting hats and scarfs for older nieces and nephews.

I thought this was a cute idea to share for the childrens' stockings - I'm going to crochet tiny pockets and sew a piece of white felt to the front of them in shape of a tooth. Then they can use them to put their lost teeth under their pillows for the tooth fairy. Right now we use envelopes, so I figure it's an improvement!

I am going to make the kiddos a doorway puppet theater and puppets also some tree blocks if DH ever gets around to cutting the limbs I got for them. LOL!

Ooh, good ideas!

I made my first batch of lye soap today, in a "manly" scent because I figure the men will be less concerned with the quality of their soap in case I screw up. : (But I am still going to PH test both batches.)

I am also going to make napkin rings out of beads, and maybe cloth napkins to put inside them (I haven't exactly worked out who all I need gifts for this year or how involved they should be--I have a big family!).

I was also thinking of making chocolate in molds, and decorating them with melted chocolate using my cake decorating tubes. I did that once before and they turned out okay. Kids might like a chocolate with their name on it.

I'm tempted to just give my parents and in-laws picture frames with the words "cute grandchild pending" on paper inside.

Any ideas for gifts I could make a cat? My brother is single with a cat and I feel like I should give him something for Mr. Meanteeth since he buys gifts for all three of us. I gave the cat a felted ball last year.

Mr. Meanteeth! : That is one great cat name! This idea is pretty obvious but my grandmother made little catnip sachet things for our cats.

I'm making my DH and brother lots of boxer shorts since they both have a pair each already and are now begging for more. My brother also wants a matching hat and bowtie. We'll see about that one!

We're making my dad and brother homebrew beer. I am hoping to make some cute personalized labels to go on the bottles.

I think I'll be making my mom a shirt and possibly a matching skirt if I can afford to.

I made my oldest niece a suedecloth purse and my younger niece a fleece pom pom boa.

We draw names for the extended family and I think I'll be making my cousin a retroish apron.

My little cousins are getting flannel skirts with matching headbands or nightgowns. I'm undecided.

DD is getting a play kitchen from her daddy. I am still trying to figure out what really special type of thing I could make her. Anyone have any ideas?

We would always put some catnip in one of my dad's old socks, and our cat would roll around with it for hours. You can buy dry catnip at just about any store that sells pet food - right by the cat toys.

Also, you could make a play stick (that is not the technical term) - a dowel with some fun little bells and feathers attached on one end.

And, my cats love sleeping on anything soft - a small blanket or bed just for Mr. Meanteeth (such a great cat name!) might be an option.

No directions, sorry. I was just going to wing it. I was thinking I'd buy stretchy-cord and just make little single-strand circles, nothing fancy!

Here is what I am working on-

(knitting)
-Legwarmers and fingerless glittens for my 14 y.o. sister
-Scarves for my mom and dad
-LTK mocs for my 3 nieces and my grandma

(cooking)
-Chocolate dipped pretzels
-Breads (pumpkin, banana and cranberry)
-Soup in a jar

Those three presents will be combined for extended family.

I'm making some of the women on my list scarves using thick chenille. I'm crocheting them lengthwise, then using a ribbon yarn (called "Incredible") to embellish it by slipstitching a stripe on each side (lengthwise) and crocheting a fringe using a loop stitch.

Today, ds helped me dip pinecones in wax to make fire starters. I tied green rafia around each one which gave a nice pine needle effect. We plan on gathering more pinecones so we can make more. Someone gave me a bunch of wax a while back so this was a no cost project (except I think I'll need more rafia).

I also plan on making my siblings some homemade granola in festive flavors; cranberry/almond and apple/walnut.
