Please Send Me Labor Vibes

I've been joking with DH that I'm in early, early, early, early labor. For the past several days, I've had a "different" kind of surge that seems to tug at my cervix.

Usu. I wake up every night a few times feeling discomfort in my lower abs because my bladder is full. Tonight, the discomfort was different -- sharper somehow.

So I visited the girl's room and saw some of my mucous plug had come out. I hadn't seen this happen since I had preterm labor about 6 wks ago.

Since then, a few more surges and a lot more tugging/pushing feeling on the cervix.

I've read losing a plug could mean a day or weeks more...Nothing else has happened yet, so I guess it could be soon or it could be a few more days (or another week??)

Any opinions or thoughts?

No thoughts other than the same stuff is happening to me.

I really hope for your sake (and mine) that it does mean something!!!

And because I don't think that by giving it diminishes what you already have...

Sending labor vibes your way!

Sounds like early early labor! Just try to ignore it for as long as possible -- you will know when things change and when it's time to go in. I will be near TMC today and will send lots of positive vibes your way!!! Good luck, mama!

Sending lots of peaceful labor vibes your way!!! It does sound like you are on the road to having this baby. I just hope for your sake that it is sooner rather than later. Try to relax, pamper yourself a bit and trust that your body knows exactly what to do and will do it perfectly when the time is right. Take care and be gentle on yourself. Your journey is almost over.

This is how my labor started! As my midwife pointed out, any dialation you do now is just money in the bank for later. I think all the early early labor I had (just like you described) was one reason my active labor went so quickly. Just ignore them and go about "normal" business. (I know, I know, it's SO FRIGGING HARD not to leap into action every time you feel one.)

Sending many labor vibes!

Thank you everyone for the good vibes!

I'm just back from a big walk with DH to the store. I can hardly believe the number of stairs I climbed. Anyhoo, I'm probably going to disappear for a nap.

Nabigus--Thanks for that "in the bank" comment. I like thinking that I'll have less to do as far as dilation later on!

Reader--Thanks for sending some LV dust my way.

I'm grateful for all you helpful mamas and mamas-to-be on this board!

Deborah,

This is your first, too, right? Just think... if we have another baby after this one, we'll be so "old hat" about it that we'll pooh pooh all this crap that we're hyperventilating about now, and the baby will pop out before we're even ready.

Tonight I'm really concentrating on positives.

No baby yet, but the Mucus Plug Event got DH to put the Arms Reach together...finally!! Now if I can just get him to get the diaper table ready...

Just lots of surges (nothing regular yet) and cervix tugging...

Your body is gearing up for the big event - rest up, eat up, relax. I'm glad your mucus plug prodded your dh into getting a little more ready for baby.

I measured 1 cm dilated 1.5 weeks ago and that prodded dh to get some stuff done for 3 or 4 days, unfortunately the magic has worn off and he's back to complacency. Hmmm, maybe I should stop telling him that I don't think the baby is coming anytime soon?
