I hope this link works. I've never added a link. OK, ladies and gentlemen. Take the quiz. What is the faith you practice, and what does belief-o-matic tell you is the faith you believe?

Just for fun! I took it once, and I am going to take it again now, and I'll post my result. Last time, it told me I was a 98% match with Orthodox Judaism. Stop laughing, Jewish sisters!

OK--take the quiz! Report back!

BTW--the Christian denominations quiz reminded me of this fun quiz, so I thought we could all give it a try!

Here are my results...drum roll...

OK, you all know I am a practicing Muslim, going on three years now. Well, according to belief-o-matic, I'd perhaps make a better...

Orthodox Jew (100%), Reform Jew (98%), or Sikh (98%)...

These are my leftist leanings coming back to trouble me, clearly! : I support nonviolence and I think in terms of metaphor. But, Islam does come for me after Sikhism.

Again, stop laughing, BB! Amy, I hear you...

I can never resisit a poll!!!!

Here are mine btw, I have taken this one before.

1. Neo-Pagan (100%)
2. New Age (81%)
3. Unitarian Universalism (81%)
4. Mahayana Buddhism (72%)

:LOL :LOL :LOL :LOL :LOL :LOL

1. Reform Judaism (100%)
2. Orthodox Judaism (87%)
3. Islam (83%)
4. Sikhism (81%)
5. Liberal Quakers (74%)

That was fun. And I usually never do those quiz things.

It's funny how this worked out for me, because my not being a Reform Jew was a definite specific decision, which included the decision not to attend the Reform rabbinical school ...

And really, Orthodox Judaism and Islam are a lot alike in many philosophical ways ... which is probably why Boro Park, Brooklyn, looks the way it does ... eg., mostly Orthodox Jews, with a very fast-growing observant Muslim population ... can't live together too well in the Middle East, but it works right in Brooklyn ...

Nice to have new things to think about, too ...

See--that WAS you I heard laughing! This quiz is a very good reminder of how very much we have in common. I'd happily be your neighbor...

Arduinna--would you say your "label" is right-on then?

The Belief-O-Matic says that I am......

Universal Unitarianist (100%)

Neo-Pagan (93%)

Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (89%)
I think those results are really interesting......

Do I think mine is accurate?? I think it's as accurate as any poll probably can be, or has been of all the ones I've taken.

I still don't know what New Age is supposed to be as a religion. I think that came in # 2 because I did choose tarot cards ect in that last question. My conception of God definately falls into the pagan catagory, and probably neopagan at that. I didn't pick pacifist (even though I do have those leanings) only because for me it's a personal choice not a religious requirement.

Hey Amy, what about that liberal Quaker you got at the bottom???

Yeah--I was going to add that I was still a 48% match for RC, and 21% for nontheist. Just to hang on to the grain of salt.

LOL, just for the heck of it, I took the christian demonination poll that was posted in another thread (since it said for them I didn't want to crash their party by posting there) anyway that one said

100% unitarian universalist.

Me:

Neo-pagan 100%

Mahayana Buddhist 92%

UU 91%

New Age 90%

Sihk 87%

Interesting, as I don't know exactly what Mahayana Buddhism or Sihk beliefs are.

Too bad there doesn't seem to be a category for Gnosticism or Cosmopolitanism (neo-Platonism). They must be included in the catch-all neo-paganism. *sigh*

I like this quiz better than the other one since it gives percentages. I scored 100% for Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox. (I am Roman Catholic, btw)

The strangest thing to me is that Jehovah's Witness and Mormonism are anywhere on my list, let alone at 63% and 71%. Goodness, I scored higher for JW than I did for Mainline Liberal Protestant (53%). I can't think of one theological point that I share with the JW religion. At least liberal protestants are Trinitarian! Interesting. (this is not a flame to JW... just acknowledging significant doctrinal differences)

What's even stranger is to have scored 14% as "nontheist". Huh? After I said I believe in one God in 3 persons (with one incarnation) who will judge souls for our eternal existance? That's NON-theist?? Although, it's nice to know that I share some principles with all faith groups... like caring for the poor/oppressed and the environment.

Ugg! I clicked on Roman Catholic in my results to see what they had to say. They go through question by question giving the Catholic's position for each one... AND THEY GET SOME OF IT WRONG!! That is so frustrating when an informative article writes things that simply aren't true. I expect it from anti-Catholic sources, but not from something that purports to be non-biased.

LOL
It said I am 100% Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am.
93% mainstream Christian.
I couldn't even answer the first question. :

I wanted to take the poll to see where I would most fit in, and maybe find a little home. No such luck I guess.

The way I am feeling now I wanted to mark Not Sure if their is a Deity. But I also wanted to mark ONE God(but is that just because of conditioning?)

Ok, I went back and answered the questions as honestly as I could, a lot of them were answered 'bot applicable' sincee I really am confused about it all.

The last few questions I had answers for, whew!

Oh weird! I most match..100% in fact to Liberal Quakers!! WOW!! That is so odd, because I would just LOVE to live their lives!!

LIberal Quakers

So really they are just as confused as I am LOL!
My top five are:

1. Liberal Quakers (100%)
2. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (100%)
3. Unitarian Universalism (98%)
4. Secular Humanism (94%)
5. Bahá'í Faith (81%)
6. Theravada Buddhism (77%)
I popped up as 100% Orthodox QUaker (???? Don't know the first thing about that church! ANy quakers here?) and 95 % mainline to conservative Christian.

Thanks. That was fun.
