What you really believe--do YOU even know? - Page 3

Liberal Quaker 100%
Unitarian Universalist 95%
Mainline to liberal Protestant 91%
Mahayana Buddhism 90%
Theravada Buddhism 87%

What's surprising is that I'm a Catholic, which for me came in at #25 with 36%. I didn't realize how far I've strayed from my faith.

My 10 year old ds took it too:
He's
Mahayana Buddhism 100%
Neo Pagan 84%
Theravada Buddhism 84%
Liberal Quaker 81%
Mainline-liberal protestant 78%

For him, Catholic came in last at 16%, although in his case the quiz was quite accurate, because he's taken vows as a Mahayana Buddhist! (When he made his first confession, he confessed that he was really a Buddhist, LOL.)

Shucks, I'm not a Zoroastrian

The first time I took this test, a few years ago, I was a secular humanist, Unitarian, liberal Quaker. Now I'm 100% mainline Protestant. I did notice I was answering more in line with those beliefs this time around. Maybe I'm scared these days.

What's really disturbing to me is this:
250 - 329
You are a George Bush Sr. Christian (a.k.a. "Right-Leaning Traditionalist").

I could not help answering the questions about Jesus according to what I was taught. It occurs to me that I've never really put a lot of thought into what I believe actually occurred to Jesus historically.
I had a hard time answering so many of those questions because so many were not quite said the way I would say. There is so much unknown and mystery...and these all seemed to want a conviction for every topic. But my satisfaction (revenge toward my MIL) came from seeing Roman Catholic at the BOTTOM of my list at 17%. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. The top two were "mainline to liberal Christian Protestant" and then "Liberal Quakers"...but reading about them did not suit me all that well either. Oh well.

:LOL

That was interesting - PRetty much how I thought it would turn out, except for #2, Christian Science and #4 Scientology

1. New Thought (100%)
2. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (99%)
3. New Age (95%)
4. Neo-Pagan (92%)
5. Scientology (90%)
6. Unitarian Universalism (90%)

The kicker is that Roman Catholicsm, the faith I was raised quite formally in is last at 3%...like you daylily I have strayed a bit in what I beleive

2. New Thought (97%)
3. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (93%)
4. Neo-Pagan (92%)
5. Scientology (88%)
6. Unitarian Universalism (85%)
7. Liberal Quakers (81%)
8. Mahayana Buddhism (80%)
9. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (75%)
10. Theravada Buddhism (70%)
11. Taoism (66%)
12. Hinduism (64%)
13. Bahá'í Faith (57%)
14. Secular Humanism (54%)
15. Jainism (53%)
16. Orthodox Quaker (52%)
17. Reform Judaism (50%)
18. Sikhism (39%)
19. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (38%)
20. Jehovah's Witness (38%)
21. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (35%)
22. Orthodox Judaism (29%)
23. Nontheist (29%)
24. Seventh Day Adventist (21%)
25. Islam (18%)
26. Eastern Orthodox (9%)
27. Roman Catholic (9%)

Thatsa lotta believin'! My Seventh Day Adventist neighbors (most people around me are) will be happy to know that 21% of me can relate. But I'm very surprised that there's even 9% showing up as RC!

And yes, although it was very interesting, there were many answers that didn't quite fit. I just can't be boxed in :. And at last I read a definition of New Age that I like.

Things that make you go...hmmm...

Well, mine came up first with what I would have guessed ahead of time, had I known the options. My top 10:

1. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (100%)
2. Bahá'í Faith (80%) :
3. Liberal Quakers (80%)
4. Unitarian Universalism (70%)
5. Reform Judaism (69%)
6. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (68%)
7. Orthodox Quaker (68%)
8. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (58%)
9. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (57%)
10. Neo-Pagan (56%)

I find it interesting that there is such a big percentage gap between 1 and 2/3. I put almost no mediums in the "importance" areas, and I guess being so adamant in my choices left the system little wiggle room.

I read up in the Liberal Quakers and found a lot to agree with, but then read about Bahá'í and found much less for me there. Certainly not 80%.

Now if I could just find a liberal Protestant church to go to in my very conservative neck of the woods...

Mine came out right on the money. I was a member of a liberal (unprogrammed) Quaker meeting for years, although we don't currently attend one because of the nature of our local meetings not being a great situation for kids (due to demographics and location, not because there's anything inherently anti-kid about them). I would still consider myself theologically a liberal Quaker. We attend a liberal UMC congregation, so that's a good #2 choice, and I've also attended UU churches in the past.

right on the money

Cool quiz.

I am muslim and I got
100% Islam

Also 100% Orthodox Judiasm

89% Bahai (of which I know nothing)

79% Reform Judiasm and

76% mainline to conservative Christian/Protestant.

Go figure!!

Tee hee...

I am just glad to see that this thread continues to amuse and entertain, even if it doesn't inspire!

2. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (93%)

5. Theravada Buddhism (85%)

I really thought Unitarian Universalism would be higher. I am Roman Catholic (39%), but I have always known that I did not fully agree with the Pope. A bit interested in the earth part of Paganism, which Neo-Pagan was 74%.
