any recipes for healthy cut-out cookies w/ frosting?

Hi,
I'd like to make holiday cookies with a hoard of 3 yr. olds, but everything i've seen is loaded with sugar. Ideally, I'd like to make fairly healthy cut-out cookies and have the kids frost them (any suggestions for a low-sugar frosting recipe much appreciated).
many thanks,
nan

If you check out the gingerbread boy thread, those cookie recipes have a bit less sugar than some others. Part of the sugar is in the form of molasses, which has more nutrients in it.
One of the people suggested using the dough to decorate, rather than using frosting. She explains it thoroughly in her post on the gingerbread boy thread.
As far as frosting goes, I can't think of any recipes that don't rely on sugar.
Would a low sugar jam work?
You could decorate with dried fruit rather than candies.

You could use cream cheese [sweetened or unsweetened as frosting, or jams, banana mashed with lemon juice, or peanut butter.
