my Seabands are working!!!! :LOL My friend just lent me her old Seabands -- they are the accupressure wrist-bands for motion sickness and nausea. And they work!!! I always swore I would try them if I was ever pg again, and I am so glad I did. I will have to try them for at least a 24hr period to see if they affect all the 'phases' of my nausea, but I will keep you posted! Yeah!!!

:LOL this is me rolling on the floor laughing. i soooo knew what your we're talking about just by reading the title. i know b/c i just told dh this weekend that i felt like Olivia Newton John. :LOL all i need now is the matching headband. :LOL i'm not sure mine have helped all that much but there certainly not hurting.

I'm so glad you understand me! Mine are bright red -- not too subtle! :LOL I guess a rainbow pattern circa 1985 would have been considered retro! Now that would be cool! The only thing I can't figure out is how to explain/hide them around people we haven't told yet. Perhaps I could break into a quick "You're the one that I want! Hoo hoo hoo!" Ha ha ha! I think they are cutting off circulation to my brain!

Well mamabear, if that excuse works for you, I better get some ASAP. I don't have terrible nausea, but I definately have the foggy pregnant head in full force.

Hmmm.... MIL suggested those for me, but since they make my travel related sickness WORSE, I'm scared to try!

Ginger: I borrowed mine from a friend, but I am pretty sure they can be found at drugstores. They seem to be working for me so far -- for my peak nausea times they definitely take the edge off, even if I still feel a bit queasy, and for the other times they help it almost totally disappear (enough that I can eat, etc.). Even if it is a placebo effect, I'm lovin' it! :LOL

Heather: I hope they work for ya!

Moosemommy: I don't blame ya!

PinkPixie: I am sorry to hear you have it so rough. How long does it last for you?

Very sweet of you to ask. To answer, every pregnancy has been different for me. My first I was sick often starting at 4pm. I would only be sick all day if I was tired or did too much in one day. Preg #3 I was sick but it was endurable.

Pregnancy #2 I had hypermensis. It hit me like a ton of bricks and never let go. I was throwing up 7 to 14 times a day (even thought I had nothing in my stomach), was dehydrated and was hospitalized (to get rehydrated with an IV). I could barely take care of my son since I was so weak all the time. I even woke up in the middle of the night to puke. I also had dizzy spells. It started to subside after 20 very difficult weeks. I was worried about my lack of nutrition and liquid intake for over half my pregnancy. Even at 22 weeks I would sometimes still throw-up. I lost 15 pounds (some of that weight was fluids).

This pregnancy started to be like preg#2 .I lost 6 pounds last week alone, so I decided to get help this time and it is working. My midwife prescribed Diclectin and I can finally eat and drink. I'm not suffering anymore. Still have moments of nausea but they are endurable and much much less intense. I can finally enjoy the first trimester.

Pink Pixie-My 2nd pregnancy was exactly the same. I was only in the hospital once for dehydration. This pregnancy has been better but I have had days where I can't keep anything down. I go o the OB next Friday and I hope I can get a prescription just in case. I hope you feel beter!

PinkPixie: I'm glad you are doing better this time -- I can't even imagine that degree of nausea. I won't complain as much anymore!

Sugar Magnolia: I hope it doesn't get too intense for you. Good idea to be prepared -- it seems to come out of nowhere.

Sugar Magnolia, in case your pregnancy get's really tough again, Diclectin really helps. , I understand how hard it is to be so sick.

Thanks for the hugs, PinkPixie. It seems like this one is a lot easier. But I guess I should knock on wood just in case.
