I never claimed to be a perfect family but I didn't think dd's first day of K would be so rough.
It all started bad the night before, dd was having a hard time going to bed (normally she'll be in an afternoon class, but for just 1 day had to go in the morning) normally dd and I stay up late and sleep late so I knew this was going to be hard. To make it worse Dh stayed up late to read, and then when he went to bed he sent her into the livingroom with me
: (where I was frantically searching for a pencil sharpner). I think this was the only time co-sleeping didn't work with our schedule.
Of course dd was tired in the morning, having to get awake 2hrs before her normal time. dd has issues with her shoes, clothes, had to find a winter coat (normally we get up once it has already warmed up, I didn't know how cold mornings were
) dd didn't want any breakfast. Dh gave dd money
after the school had said don't (dd doesn't eat lunch at school and there was no reason for it, dd was going on about showing it to all of her friends
, something that I feel shouldn't be incouraged, but Dh didn't seem to think it.
We left early as the air was tense. Got to bus stop 20 minutes early. Everyone very cold. dd did find some animal track in the dirt and that kept everyone occupied
dd just hopped right on the bus and started talking about the tracks. No good-bye or anything
: very anti-climatic.
Then Dh and I get into it over me talking to a neighbour when he had to leave for work (I didn't know he wanted me to walk the short distance to his car with him) Dh said he wanted to walk back and talk about good times with dd. You know the warm-fuzzy stuff. For some reason he thinks I know what he wants and gets angry with me when I don't. It always works out that everything I do makes him angry. If I were to have taken the lead to talk to him, he would have said something along the lines of "I have to go to work. don't you know".
Luckily this was just a odd morning. From now on Dh will be at work, and dd and I can start our routine.
