What questions to ask teacher?

I just realized that tomorrow is the day we get to go meet ds's kindergarden teacher. ( wow this month went fast )

I haven't had much time to really think about this as we/I have been having major health & family issues. My head is spinning with too many questions.
What are the important questions that you would ask?

Sorry I have to be quick - I'm chasing my DD1!
How exciting! Kindergarten! As a former elem. teacher this is what I'd say to find out about:

Daily schedule
How discipline is handled
What kind of rewards/consequences are implemented?
Are there cooperative activity groups? How much time do the kids spend doing independent work?
One thing that was always important to my parents is:
What about birthday parties? Can they have a party at school? Can parents bring something?

moon child, maybe it would help for you to write out the questions you have in mind (here or on paper). That will probably help you organize your thoughts a little. Is it one on one meetings, or is the teacher going to meet all the parents at once? If He or She is going to meet with all parents, my guess is that the teacher would have something prepared which will cover many of your concerns. Then you could ask about anything not covered.

Anniekatemom~ thanks for your reply those wer pretty much the questions that I had in mind. I just feel like I'm missing something.

mamajama~thanks too for your reply It's going to be the teacher, ds & me and another parent and dc. It's set up so that each child will have already met another child, so then on the 1st day of school they will 'know' someone already.
