Clamps such as these are only used on very young children. An adult would not tolerate the pain or the hack and slash results. These clamps are made for expediency, not cosmetic results. Adult circumcisions are called "sleeve resections" and are done entirely by hand as would be the case with anyother surgery. The doctor has the man get an erection and carefully marks the area as to where it will be cut so that it has the proper appearance post operatively. With infant circumcisions, they are just guessing what the final outcome will be and what the cosmesis will be. That's why so many men have screwed up circumcisions.
