ds took too long to poop.... - Page 2

[QUOTE=jannan]35 minutes is way too long to be in the bathroom. did he have diarreah that day? or just alot of poop? QUOTE]

She stated that her son had a medical issue. I think this was a little insensitive.

I would be upset at the total lack of sensitivity that the teacher showed. It isn't his fault that he has issues that cause this. Maybe a Dr.'s note would help her to understand?

applejuice my dd since she was 2 1/2 does that same thing herself. she throws me out of the bathroom when i go to check on her. i remeember as a child i enjoyed reading on the toilet and sometimes would spend hours there.

OP - sorry teachers are so insensitive. i guess it seems like hs might be the best option for u guys once again. at least with ur son since ur dd likes hers.

Thanks momsgotmilk4two and meemee for your supportive responses. I agree some people just take their time in the bathroom because that's the way they do things. He has not pooped at school since the day he was told it was a problem. I feel bad doing it but I have reminded him every morning that if he doesn't really need to go he should wait until after school. My best friend said, and it is true, that most of us pretty quickly get on a schedule of not pooping at school if we can help it so hopefully it won't be too much of a recurring issue. If he were to ask to homeschool, I would not hesitate, but so far he still says he likes it and wants to go and I am inclined to give it a little more time before I take that choice from him. *sigh* I so wish every "regular" schooler could have the kindergarten experience my middle dd had.

13moons your response reminded me of my elem. school days. how i hated going poop at school because it took too much time. so i remember kinda working on it so i didnt have to go poop in school. i had constipation so it not only took longer but timing was unpredictable too. i remember once going in my pants on the way home because i refused to go at school. as far as i remember i think i hated taking time out of my break to go poop. maybe ur son might figure out the same thing over time.

so glad it hasnt disillusioned ur sons view of school.
