Dear BennyPai,

The best thing you can do to help your sister is to listen to her, support her and be there with her every step of the way.

Encourage her to join a bereavement support group in your area so that she can talk with other families who have experienced the death of their baby. Having this support will help her to know she is not alone.

Get her a copy of Empty Cradle, Broken Heart by Deborah Davis and encourage her and her partner to do whatever they need to do to remember their baby girl. This is very important.

Encourage them to take their time grieving and do what feels right to honour their daughter's life.

Do they know why Emma died? Was it SIDS? If so they SIDS support groups are amazing help for certain people. My Son Carson died 7 years ago at 2 months old of SIDS & the support group helped me tremendously, plus the group in our area does fundraisers all year long where parents can hook up together & offer each other support in a fun atmosphere.

Also remember Emmas birthday & date of death. My good friends still remember & call or send cards, one of my friends always leaves something on my back porch on his birthday, sometimes it's a bottle of wine, other years it has been food & once it was a beautful x-mas tree ornament with his name on it.

I am so sorry your Sis is going through this, it's horrible. My Love & strength to her.
