hi wondering how long it took everyone to concieve there children.
it took us 4 months with our first. and we are thinking of ttcing again nov dec for #2. #1 is 13 months now

Ds #1 took two months to conceive via IUI, and DS #2 also took 2 months via IUI. DS #1 was 5 months when we started trying, to see though we would be trying for 6 months or so, but low and behold, 2 months later, preggo.

My three children were all conceived on the first attempt. So was one of the ones I miscarried.

However, I also spent almost four years ttc a second child with no success...lost two, and spent another two years unsuccessfully ttc.

We have three kids, and the only time we ever "tried" was for our second. I think it took a month, and when I think about it, after we started trying, I never got a period. He is now 15, 6ft tall and gorgeous

My first was conceived on the pill, and my last baby, who is now 7 was a result of a broken condom

With my first it took well over a year, and that was with charting and really trying.

With my second it took about 2 months of "not being very careful."

With my third it took thinking I was on day 8 when really I was on day 15!

Our son was conceived the first month we tried. I had been charting for a long time already so I knew when to go for it. I still was kind of surprised tho!

My son was a *surprise* when I was 18 years old and single.

My 2nd child, a daughter, was concieved after several months of trying. My cycles weren't regular, so we werent really sure when to "try."

A baby that I miscarried was concieved after a couple of months of not trying, but not avoiding.

And my last child was concieved the 1st month that we decided to try again.

Qualia was conceived two months before we planned to start trying. (I was five months pregnant at our wedding instead of three! :LOL ) We weren't being very careful at that point, though, so I guess you could say she was conceived about two months after we stopped being very careful. I'm curious to see how long it takes us once we actually start trying.

first baby about 4 mos but I m/c
dd1 12 mos
dd2 6 mos

The funny thing was, I charted and read my fertility signs and it didn't help. Dd1 was conceived immediately after returning from vacation and dd2 as conceived on vacation. Both times ttc was the furthest thing from our minds.

My dd was conceived in our second month trying. It was our first month charting. My dh was surprized that it happened so fast.

All 3 were "accidents." #1 was conceived within 2 weeks of missing a dose of Depo Provera, and #2 & 3 were both conceived during vacation when I forgot to keep track of my cycle. I think I just take after my mom and am very very fertile. Dh's parents had fertility testing done and found FIL had a high sperm count, so I wouldn't be surprised if dh did, too. (MIL's inability to conceive was due to stress they found out, cuz there was nothing found to be wrong and she conceived within a month of quitting her job. LOL!) Like my FIL likes to say, "You can convert the Catholic girls, but it doesn't diminish their fertility." LOL!

edited to add that most people I've talked to who had trouble conceiving their first had no trouble w/ subsequent kids. Although there are exceptions, this seems to be the rule, at least IME. Good luck!

We never really "tried". All three were a surprise and they were the only times we didn't use birth control. I have never really followed my cycle so I guess it was just strange luck.

First baby - conceived the second cycle we tried.

Second baby - conceived the month we decided to wait another year before TTC. :LOL

Third baby - conceived 3 1/2 months after DH's "successful" vasectomy!

My son came while I was on birth control, very much a surprise to my partner Stupid and I at the time.

A few years later, I met my husband and we decided as soon as we were married, we would try for our own baby. Because we kept great charts, we were able to determine we conceived on our wedding night! Some people have honeymoon babies, we had a wedding night baby!!!! Noone believes us, but its true! And since we waited a week after the wedding to honeymoon, and because my cycle is a little off (but normal for me!) we actually found out on our honeymoon we were expecting! What a great gift!!!

Sounds similar to our situation. At first we did all kinds of things to figure out when was the best time for TTC. I tracked my temp, spat on a little mini microscope called a donna that was supposed to show when you were ovulating, etc. It took 7 months to get pregnant that way. I ended up having a m/c though. When we tried again we took more of a "let's just enjoy ourselves approach and conceived the first month. This time we never used any birth control after DS was born, but I was bf. He was born in October. I got my period in July, and got pregnant in December.

dd1 - first month trying (I was 26)
dd2 - first month trying (I was 30)
dd3 - four months trying (I was 32)

I just kept track of CM - no charting, no temp, no fertility ovulation kits. Easy the first two times around but I guess the third time around my eggs were getting tired or something!
