Dd's kinder story from yesterday

So, I get home from school yesterday and ask dd how her day at school was (MIL watches her, but I come home for lunch). She tells me it was fun. I ask her what they did.

Conversation goes like this:

Me: So, what happened at school today?
Dd: There is a boy at my school named Jonathan.
Me: Yeah?
Dd: He threw up!!
Me: He threw up?
Dd: Yeah, all over the learning rug! They called his mom to come get him so he doesn't get anyone else sick.

: It just cracked me up that of the whole day in school, the most exciting part of her day was seeing another kid throw up and watching them clean it up with the sawdust (or whatever they use now) and a vacuum.

She did say that she hope he's better so he can come back to school. She hoped he didn't get anyone else sick.

She will probably remember that ALWAYS!! (I still remember a boy in my 1st grade throwing up in the classroom-- I can still see his green face....)

When I taught kindergarten, my kids would latch onto certain events and discuss them for weeks: throw up, so-and-so's big boogers, a giant spider in the classroom...etc. Kids are so funny!

Me too, he threw up on the carpet right in front of the teachers desk. Another boy got in trouble and went to the principle's office for peeing outside at the bandroom. It was an L shaped building separate from the school and he peed in the corner.
