POMPHPLYX?

I read a post on excema and it had some references to Pompholyx (?) This is something that I'd never heard of before...

I posted this on child.com, and I got one response saying, "go to the doctor if you're so concerned" Sh*t I really don't like those ppl! Anyway here is the post, I know you guys can help me out!

Around the start of the summer, when it got quite hot for days at a time, my daughter got a few bumps on the side of her chest, where her arm rests against it. Since then they have spread to her arm and pop up here and there but mostly in the same general area on her left side. There aren't a lot, but there are more than a few months ago and haven't gone away. At first I thought it to be heat rash, since she is active and it's been so hot. Then when they spread a little I considered chicken pox, but they aren't spreading enough or even itchy for that matter. They aren't generally red, they don't itch, and they aren't inflamed or infected. They're just.....there! Once, I decided to lance one to see what would come out. It wasn't pus, and not very wet at all, just a small nodule, kindof like a whitehead. Now that I did that she of course will not let me even look at them! They don't give me any cause for alarm, but I am rather curious about them, and people ask about them when she goes swimming, etc. Any ideas?

P.s. she has excema for sure on her legs, is this a form of it or psoriasis maybe?

Well, I did a little research on the web after posting and it appears it may be a fungus (wahhh my poor baby!) called molluscum and I don't like it at all. She won't let me touch the vescicles, but the only way to get rid of the condition is to detroy all of them. Wish me luck, I may need restraints.....

Hiya. I had mentioned molluscum on your other thread. Just so you know, molluscum is a virus, not a fungus (not that's that's much better). You can basically think of them as being a fancy form of warts. And (like warts), they do go away on their own -- but they have a tendency to spread themselves in the meantime. Anyway, best of luck.

Yes, and they are (like warts) a pain to get rid of! Thanks a bunch for your reply....
