Don't give them any ideas! I would not be suprised if they have already thought of it. They would call it, "Chaiotic, the ledgend continues" or somthing equally stupid!

Sorry but the belly shirt controversy cracks me up. Especially after reading all the Katrina posts.

Hey, if you got it...flaunt it

You know, she's really young and probably scared.

I remember being in the shower sometime around my 6th month with my first and I had been enjoying my pregnancy and all the attention and I felt great...and then there was this moment in the shower when I really looked at my big belly and realized there was a BABY in there and it had to come OUT sometime. OUT of my body...um, panic much? :LOL Really, it was like it had just occurred to me I wouldn't be pregnant forever...the baby was coming OUT when it felt it was time.

I've had one c-section and one v-bac. Both recoveries were hard. I think it varies for each woman and probably for each birth. I have a hairline scar that is very hard to see and it is down low ( a bikini cut) so covered naturally anyway. After I lost the pregnancy weight, my tummy looked fine.

When I think what I was like at her age, well, I cut her some slack. I hope she and her baby do fine.

Well said, TB.

Well, really you have to cut her some slack. I mean, she's not the brightest crayon in the box IYKWIM.

This is very true, but let's face it, MOST women I know don't know these real risks. Ignorant, spolied pop stars do NOT have the market cornered on that. And I believe most women do not have this information because care providers insist on taking choice away from women by keeping them ignorant. Sure, there are lots of book with the info out there, but there are SO many books to choose from, and all those options often just confuse women, so they rely on their doctor to inform them... which they SHOULD be able to do. We should expect our care providers to properly inform us of risks! It's just that so many people do not understand what the industry has become, how it's all about money and controlling women for the sake of profit. So they trust the wrong people, and make choices based on fear.

I think a better starting point for us as women is to support ALL women in THEIR CHOICES, whatever they may be. If women start to get the proper support, they may then have access and be open to the information they need to make a truly informed decision. But blowing someone off as ignorant and making fun of them and wishing ill towards them will NEVER help lead women towards potentially life changing information. It will only push those women away from the collective wisdom of the sisterhood and further into the hands of the medical industry.

We can not expect the same doctors who want to control us to provide the support we can ony provide ourselves. We have to step up and do it ourselves, even for those women who make choices we disagree with.

I wonder if she is saying things just to blow the media off. She knows it is WHACKED! It gives her publicity. It also can give her a little privacy.

I had a csect with my ds, almost 5 years ago. I have spent the last 4 years researching and learning that it didn't have to be that way. I had no one to teach me, to tell me that what my dr's told me wasn't the only way to do it. When you have dr's telling you it's no big deal to have a csection, that formula is just as good....how do you know? I only learned these things after I started looking for breastfeeding support. Then I realized my first birth was messed up. Really really messed up. I have been hell bent on having a natural birth for this baby ever since the idea of a second baby became a reality.

And you know what?? Last week, if someone had stopped by and offered me a csection I would have taken it. I'm in a better frame of mind after having some nice long talks with my dh, spending time with my doula and just stopping to think what I really want.

I can't understand criticizing Brittney, she's doing the best with what she knows and what the people she trusts are telling her.

She may also opt for the lobotomy and voluntary Kevin-ectomy as well! I wish the world could have a Britneyectomy and a Parisotomy!

me either

I agree with TB also

Many women are scared, and I don't think she merits the kind of hateful comments I've seen. Some of the stuff I've seen reek of jealousy, frankly.
