food craft/gift suggestions?

Im looking for some food type craft suggestions. Like the jars that have all the dry ingredients for cookies and such. Im making aprons for several gifts and wanted to add some kind of food item to go along with them. Other then just making some cookies and caramel like I usually do. Any suggestions? Or other ideas to go with the aprons?

A friend of mine just gave me a cake in a box thing. Hmmm, how to describe. It's in a round plastic container w/a personalized label; ie. Happy Birthday or Merry Merry from Suzie Q. And, everything you need to make the cake is IN the container. And, you even pop the cake, in the container, into the microwave and then toss the confetti over it.

Very cute idea. I'm going to order them for birthday gift tokens.

Of course, I have no idea how to make it on my own but I'm sure it'd be easy to figure out.

Good luck!

You could put some wooden spoons and pot holders in the apron pockets?

If you do a search for gifts in a jar you will find all kinds of recipes. I used to have a good one bookmarked but I can't find it. I love the idea you have.

You could maybe make some dish towels out of the same stuff your making the aprons out of, that would be cute.

If you're giving it in the winter, you could put some gourmet hot cocoa in pockets with some homemade chocolate dipped spoons. Or you could make the cocoa. I make my fireside cocoa every year and it is a big hit.

Or, you could make vanilla sugar....

Or, special olive oil....

How about a pancake mix? My friend keeps powdered buttermilk in her cupboard for when she wants to make pancakes but doesn't have any fresh buttermilk on hand, so that must be available someplace to use as an ingredient. Also Energy (?) brand powdered egg substitute (potato starch) could be used so that the only necessary ingredient for the recipient to add would be water and oil/melted butter.

I'm planning to make up some jars of my grandmother's russian tea mix to include with my gifts. Unfortunately its very not natural with instant tea and tang in it, but those getting it aren't too NFL.
