He turned out to be correct wanting me in the hospital with both, because I didn't deliver my placenta with ds#1 (had to be manually/surgically removed) and ds#2 had the chord wrapped around his neck 2 times (showed signs of distress on fetal monitor).

5. What kind of birth are you planning? Still not sure. Had a great natural hospital birth last time, but that was because the waterbirth center I was supposed to deliver in was FULL.
6. Do you WOH, SAH, WAH (or some combo of the three)? Will that change after this baby is born? WOH, in fact own a marketing design firm. But I'm making changes so that I will be more like a consultant so I can work when I want to. I'm very lucky in that I have great childcare options.

8. How did you find MDC and how long have you been here? When I was pregnant with my dd, I think b/c of the magazine.
9. Do you/will you cloth diaper? Thinking about it. We've used 7th Generation disposables (my environmental compromise as a working mom) but they're EXPENSIVE. I'm going to check out the options for CD. I understand that everyone has their preferences for types of diapers.
10. Were you raised AP/NFL? Not really, but I was raised by a lot of extended family and friends (my parents worked a lot), and always knew I was loved, even if I was somewhat ignored. I've decided to turn that experience into a life asset, though I will not duplicate it for my children.
11. Do you/will you co-sleep? We did a little of everything. DD slept in a cradle next to us until the first nursing, then slept with us the rest of the night. She sometimes comes into bed with us if she wakes, though she's in a crib in another room. I expect the next one will do the same, but not sure what we'll do if dd wants in the bed with new baby. Maybe dh will have to rock her back to sleep...

TTC, but I don't think I was quite ready, since I'm still sort of in shock. I should have known better, though -- my DH has only to look cross-eyed at me and we conceive, I swear! :

Well...that depends...lol In the past, I've had some downright horrific, premature, high-risk births , but I'm getting better each time, I swear! My last two babes were full-term at 37 weeks with minimal complications. What I'd really like to do this time is have dual care between a CNM and a homebirth midwife and then, if all is going well, get to have my first-ever homebirth! But DH is a hard sell at present, so we'll see...

6. Do you WOH, SAH, WAH (or some combo of the three)?
I SAH, but dabble in various things to make extra income, from making slings and ABCs, to website design, to doing DH's books for his business, to being a WIC bfing peer counselor.

8. How did you find MDC and how long have you been here?
I first came here to learn about cloth diapering, almost a year and a half ago now, and stayed and stayed!

I switched to cloth when baby #3 was 19 months old and haven't looked back; it's become a full-time hobby and passion of mine, now! I dye, sew, knit and crochet my own diapering stuff, too...

10. Were you raised AP/NFL?
No, although I was bfed. Luckily, my mom is very respectful of my parenting choices, even if they don't always align with hers; can't ask for more than that!

11. Do you/will you co-sleep?
Absolutely! We always co-sleep with the youngest, usually until a couple of months before the next baby arrives, then they start to co-sleep with their siblings instead, but everyone is always welcome to visit us in bed (and they frequently do, lol!) I'll roll over in the morning, feel a lump, and not always know who is who , lots of lumps creep in in the night... Good thing we have a Cal King, huh?

12. What is your favorite smiley?
:LOL or b/c I have them memorized and therefore use them frequently!

I just wanted to say to KatSG that I use the seventh generation diapers when I travel (I am not a supermom who can cloth diaper on the road ). I buy cases of them from www.drugstore.com and feel that I get a pretty good deal (although I can't buy them in my town, so I have no comparison). For me I have to be certain that I will be out of town enough times to use a case (four bags) of diapers before ds outgrows them, but you wouldn't have that problem. If cloth is not an option for you, I would check out buying by the case online.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn't pencil out. In fact, the case is $1 more (not including shipping) than if I bought four packs at a time. Typical for 7th Gen--I think their diapers have been on sale twice in 2 years.

Has anyone ever used those thick inserts that are compostable? I read an article about them coming to my local grocery store but can't remember the name and I haven't seen them. I was thinking they'd be good to put into underpants for potty training.

This was a total, complete, unplanned pregnancy. It took us almost 2 years to conceive Emilia (and we needed a bit of help). I never imagined that I would ever conceive #2 during my first PPAF cycle. I'm still reeling!
