Hi This is my first post in a long time on MDC! I know that it is the best place to get support for our homebirthing decision though! We are due in Mid May with Baby #2. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

4. Were you TTC or is this pregnancy a surprise? TTC but still a surprise because cycle just came back a few months ago and it took us 3 yrs to conceive the first time!
5. What kind of birth are you planning? HomeBirth (DS born with midwife in hospital)
6. Do you WOH, SAH, WAH (or some combo of the three)? Will that change after this baby is born? SAH and will continue to do so
7. Where do you live? (Be as vague/specific as you want to be) Virginia
9. Do you/will you cloth diaper? Clothdiaped ds from 6 mo until 2 when he potty trained. Will do this baby from the start.
10. Were you raised AP/NFL? No! Far from it!
11. Do you/will you co-sleep? Yes, Yes.
12. What is your favorite smiley? :Puke Not actually my favorite - just describes the past few weeks! LOL.

Whew...finally finished reading this thread and finally get to post my answers

TTC...but suprised at how fast it happened!

5. What kind of birth are you planning?
HOMEBIRTH!! WOOOOOWOOOOOOOOO

6. Do you WOH, SAH, WAH (or some combo of the three)? Will that change after this baby is born?
I'm at home right now, working on getting certified as a childbirth educator.
I've been on and off in school and WOH for the past however many years.

7. Where do you live? (Be as vague/specific as you want to be)
Middle of Nowhere, Upstate NY

8. How did you find MDC and how long have you been here?
Came here in 2002, after a friend of a friend told me about it.

9. Do you/will you cloth diaper?
DS1 was in 'sposies (I had some gerbers that didn't work worth a darn and gave up on cloth diapers after a few days)
DS2 started in CD, but we ended up EC-ing him
So...this new little one will most likely start in CD's too..and then we'll just play it by ear.

10. Were you raised AP/NFL?
My mom nursed us for a couple of months, had us on schedules, we slept in cribs, we were rarely spanked, but it did happen....
But we were, in general, treated with respect and our opinions counted.
So....they weren't NFL or AP, really...but they certainly raised me in a way that made NFL and AP come very naturally.

11. Do you/will you co-sleep?
Yep. I'm not sure how it works with a toddler and newborn in bed, but I'm sure not going to get out of bed a gazillion times a night to smile at my babe, who could be right by my side!


12. What is your favorite smiley?

I'm Anna, 08-15-79, so 26 currently.

We haveone daughter, Rachel, and she is almost a year old.

Rich and I have been married for a little over 3 years, and together for 6 years.

4. Were you TTC or is this pregnancy a surprise?
A little of both, we did think it would take longer though, and we only expected one!

5. What kind of birth are you planning?
I would love a VBAC waterbirth, but will do whatever is safest for the situation when it presents itself.

SAH currently, and will for the next 5ish years probably.

We live in Knoxville, Tennessee. We rent a house now until we sell our condo in Georgia. I can't wait to have our own place again!

8. How did you find MDC and how long have you been here?
I'm not sure how I came across MDC, it was before Rach was born. I was not a really active poster until recently though.

9. Do you/will you cloth diaper?
Yes and yes. Newborn diapers, yay!

10. Were you raised AP/NFL?
Pretty much so, my Mom ran out of GD tactics in my teen years and did a lot of yelling though! I was always allowed in her bed, and have a great relationship with her.

11. Do you/will you co-sleep?
Rach started sleeping in her own bed a couple months ago, we will co-sleep with the new babies for as long as it's comfy for everyone.

12. What is your favorite smiley?

4. Were you TTC or is this pregnancy a surprise? TTC. This baby was conceived on our 2nd Clomid cycle
5. What kind of birth are you planning? Repeat C-section. I would LOVE to have had a homebirth though!!
6. Do you WOH, SAH, WAH (or some combo of the three)? Will that change after this baby is born? I am a SAHM, and will continue to be after the baby is born

9. Do you/will you cloth diaper? I have used disposables with both my boys, but I am going to switch my 15 month old to cloth, and use cloth with the baby

8. How did you find MDC and how long have you been here? from an internet buddy, just joined after lurking a couple of times
9. Do you/will you cloth diaper? yes, absolutely. I bought samples of several types (fuzzi bunz, Wonderoos, Rumpsters). Ideally, I'd like to spend less than I would on disposables, but I can see how easy it is to spend tons on all of those cute diapers! I do like the convenience of the AIOs, though - I plan to do more research here.
10. Were you raised AP/NFL? OK, had to look this one up - Attachment Parenting/Natural Family Living - still not sure exactly what that means, though. Anyhow, my Mom BF'd me until she was pg with my sister, CD'd us, ground up natural food for us, SAH until we were in school, was a nature hike leader and LLL member... guess that's pretty crunchy for the early 70s
11. Do you/will you co-sleep? We plan to get a co-sleeper to attach to the bed for the first ~ 6 months. After that, we'll see. Don't want to discourage #2...
