Hello - I have not posted in this forum before but I thought I'd ask for some help with ds' apparent yeast rash. We've had issues with a diaper rash when he was a newborn that was yeast based and took about a month to clear up with the application of clortrimazole and dietary changes (for me - as he is breastfed). Then I maintained the dairy elimination until a couple of months ago and since then I've been eating cheese/yogurt again - no milk. Anyway - ds is now 10 mos old and he gets this rash in the folds of his neck that he scratches till it bleeds (especially when his little nails grow out too much). We are in the middle of a cross-country move and have been living in corporate housing/hotels for the past 7 months (long story), so there have been many times when I've given him something to eat to keep him happy because there was nothing else around or he really wanted it and nursing wasn't keeping him happy and I've just been so overwhelmed that I have kind of told myself that the rash would just go away as he got older. Okay I feel guilty. But I would like some help now with suggestions for foods that I can give him that will not exasperate the yeast condition (if this is what it is). When I've asked the ped he seemed unwilling to entertain the possiblity that ds' symptoms have anything to do with food. Also - and this is the last thing - his night waking is terrible, all night long whining and thrashing around. Any help is appreciated.
