DP and I had a great date last night. We went to a Korean restaurant and I had kim-chee soup. It was so hot it made my eyes water and my nose run (romantic, eh?) but it felt good with me having a cold. Then we saw that penguin documentary, and I cried of course

This was an event for us--the last movie we saw in the theater was Fahrenheit 9/11.

About pooping...

When I need help with pooping I make tea by pouring boiling water over flax seeds (put a tsp of ground flax seeds in a cup, add boiling water, cover and let sit 20-30 minutes, then drink up). This is a good stool softener. Also, putting a foot up on the toilet seat and massaging my perineum seems to help when there is hard stool that needs a little help making it's way out.

I have been lucky about pooping this pregnancy (but last pregnancy I was NOT despite being a water, fiber, and exercise fiend). I am thinking my good fortune is due to either (1) nursing while pregnant--seems like I often have to go after nursing--I wonder if that little oxytocin kick does something, (2) taking food-based vitamins, or (3) the whole every pregnancy is different thing.

I have a close friend who had her 10th baby a few months ago that has a split uterus. From what she's told me it depends on how it's split & which side the fertilized egg has implanted itself in, whether or not there are any issues. I guess there's an increased chance of miscarriage if the egg has implanted on the smaller side, as they rarely are split in the middle. She's had no problems at all, though, with any of her pg's. The last two she had at home. Sorry I don't have any other info for you, but just wanted to say it's not uncommon & it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. :

Hi everyone!
Just a quick post- my water broke this morning! No contractions or anything though, so we are going to go for a walk and see if we can get things moving along. It's already been about 5 hours and nothing is happening yet, so hopefully soon. We are going to walk to De Dutch for breakfast so that will be yummy
Anyways, I hope your day goes well! I hope I have a birth story to post tomorrow!

Been having pre-labor all night. I'm beat today! It's stopped now so I'm going to take a nap when my ds does & try to get some rest. The contrax are the strongest they've ever been & timeable, but each one isn't strong. Some I find myself moaning with & others are just crampy. I'm going to call my mw later & see if I can get away with taking some Benadryl tonight so I don't have another night, in a row, of it. I think this baby's coming soon & I want to be as rested as I can for it, yk? I'm 40w1d today, so it's bound to happen within the next few weeks or so.

Just a quick post. Sending ELV's to Sheila. I hope that things start for you soon. It will be nice to have a new little one to add to our growing list of new arrivals. I can't believe how many babies we have now and we are only 11 days into the month!

Dh and I are just chilling around the house today as it is frinkin HOT outside. Who would have thought that it would be over 90 at this point in Sept in WI? Yikes! is all that I can say to that. I am ready for the snow to come. Ok, maybe not the snow, but the cold weather will be nice. Then I will be able to use my fleece pouch.

Anyway, dh is also going to replace the cord to the dryer since the plug that is on it right now doesn't fit in the outlet. Nice huh? That is a project for a little bit later. I am off to stop my children from killing each other. Take care all!

Goldie, that happened to us when we bought our dryer. We had to replace the cord. Totally stupid.

Just saying hi for now. I'm still pregnant.

Shannon - I had the same thing last night. I finally fell asleep and dreamt great dreams -- one was a shamanic-type traveling dream. I was aware of the contrax through all of them. And like yours, mine stopped this am. I am ALSO 40 w 1 day!

I thought for sure that I would wake up my dh and we'd head up to the hospital. Instead I'm in limbo land today.

Here's to the natural and smooth shift into power labor.

My last pee the water was very cloudy. What is that?

btw - I've been pretty regular lately, and I think it's because I gorge myself on fruits and raw veggies. Cascara sagrada works wonders, but I would check with an herbalist before taking while prego. Castor oil empties the bowels quickly - that's why it's used as an induction aid. The muscles are close together. Also, I like Ina May's thing about relaxing your mouth by blowing raspberries. It relaxes the perineum.

hey mamas! i'm getting excited for all of you getting ready to labor! These babes will make their appearances in no time. I havent been able to get on the internet (mine's broken & its hard to get to the library with a newborn), but here I am!. Breastfeeding is starting to get easier, now that Every's got the latch down and my nipples aren't ultra sensitive & burning! I keep having to make myself slow down so that i dont reverse my recovery, but it's so hard! i was so active and "get things done" type before i was pregnant, and it's hard to try to GRADUALLY go back... I just wanna jump back to being "normal" yk?? *sigh*
Finally got Every weighed on Friday, he's 7lbs 10oz at 10 days old...so we're guessing he was about 7lbs at birth.

I've really been thinking about all you mamas still waiting for your precious little arrivals, especially those who have had physical signs of labor for quite awhile now.
ITA with Shell_Ell's outlook, cherish the last weeks! When I felt myself getting impatient, I would start thinking of the things the I might "wish I had done" and just took each day bit by bit. I kept telling myself "he'll come 2 weeks after my due date, just to make me wait" so I only got excited as my due date approached, and not impatient.
You know what they say, when you stop waiting for someone, they show up when you least expect it (Every came before his due date...Ireally thought he'd come later...).
Hang in there ladies! Talk to that little babe in your tummy!

Sending out gentle kabor vibes...

just wanted to add, this was all i did in labor. my jaw just hung open, especially when i was pushing. i just let loud breaths and moans flow out from my throat. it really did help to relax my entire body, and i could definitely feel my perineum loosen. (espec. when babe's head was right there!) so remember to:

:LOL
