Stressed Out...my toddler DD has a fever

and I'm 40 wks +2 days today Our plan is to all go to the hospital together once labor starts and then I'll labor with a doula while DH waits with DD until he joins me for pushing (Doula takes DD then)...so DD can meet her brother right after birth. But now I'm so anxious and tense since she running a sudden fever of 102.5 tonight that when I go into labor DH and her can't come with me . I guess I'm overreacting, since there's no signs of any labor yet...but with my Dr. having me come in every two days for NSTs due to anxiety induced BP highs/lows I was already stressed enough and now this. I'll have her seen by her Dr. tomorrow to see what's going on. Please keep me in your thoughts that baby DS decides to wait it out now until she's all better again.

I hope her fever breaks soon, and nothing comes of it. I'm so sorry your stressed right now. Hopefully it will pass really soon, so you can have your baby with no worries.

Hang on in there, lady. Give the kiddo time, and hopefully both she and you will find your footing on this one. Kids bounce back from these things so nicely - maybe this is a sign that you should just hang out, relax, and take care of her? Get some nice one-on-one quiet time reading and snuggling? Besides, that stress can't be good for either of you!

Or so I'm telling myself - the DH *and* the DS are both running a fever, and have been for a couple of days. Me, I'm feeling guilty about resenting them for being under the weather (it's all about me, right?), but maybe that's because my in-laws just left, after being in town since Friday...whew.

We'll be thinking of ya.

I'm sorry this is happening now! Hoping your DD gets well quick! I'm glad you have the doula so at least you won't be alone if the baby does come before DD is better.

Thanks for the replies DD seems to be doing better after some Motrin. She was just sooo hot when I first discovered she was even running a temp. Poor little one. After some cuddling on the couch we're all gonna go to bed now and hopefully by tomorrow her fever will be mostly gone. At this point at least it's down to 100.5...

Alex (feeling less stressed out now that my DD is starting to feel better and after getting all the nice replies on here. You mamas rock )

Oh, I hope labor waits a few days till she is better. Ds just got a cold (but no fever) and I have been a little worried also. Is there anyone that could stay with her so at least dh could be there for the birth?

I guess we could find someone if we really had to...but the reason we got the Doula in the first place is so that DD did not have to be with a neighbor etc. We have no family here where we live and all of my friends have their own kids/other things going on...I also haven't made tight tight friends in the short amount of time we've lived in our town...so I'm really hoping for DD to get better quickly She's at the Dr. with DH right now and I'm waiting for news.

Thanks for all the support.

Thanks for asking about Mila. She well again. DH took her to the Dr. yesterday and they said it was some virus but that we'd be in the clear as long as the fever went away. She's been better since yesterday...now if only I went into labor
