ok, you guys. I have been trying really hard (not perfect had a crab cake for breakfast) to eat vegetarian again.

So I really need some good ideas for our vegie Solstice feast. It will just be dh, dd and I and we all like tofu and the usual vegie stuff so no need be picky.

Ideas?? A week away and I have NO menu!!
Items with butter and sugar are ok. One step at a time, lolol.

Well, I can't give ya main entrees, but I saw a picture of a "boar's head" (which is a trraditional yule dish) that was made from a pineaple stuck with fruits, which woudl make a cute appetizer, and of course you coudl do a yule log cake for dessert.

I have been thinking about that a lot...here is what I have decided on so far :

- Millet Pies with mushroom sauce and "Seitan" Pie
- Stew with "veggieballs" instead of meatballs (its a typical french-canadian dish, veggie style)
- Vegetables in Pastry in creamy garlic sauce (I actually had the idea from Pepperidge Farm - their Broccoli & Cauliflower sauce but I'm gonna make my own )
- the traditionnal christmas vegetable : mashed potatoes, carrots,
peas

That are my ideas for dinner so far. On the "Eves", we always serve a cold buffet...nobody here wants to eat hot that late in the day.
So there's egg sandwiches, pasta salads, bean salads, potato salads. We are not vegan so alot of good bread and a lot of good cheese like brie and camembert. We have found wonderful mushroom pates (same style as liver pate), vegetable pates.
Also black olive and nut spread, tofu spread, baba ghanouh and hummus speads, with all sorts of bread and crackers.
Wine !
And I'm not mentionning the desserts

It is going to be our first true vegetarian Yule/Christmas ...
