rib pain?

I've been having some rib pain that, until yesterday, was entirely bearable. But last night it was so uncomfortable that I resorted to taking a tylenol. Perhaps fortunately, it didn't help.

This morning I did a bit of poking about on the internet to see if I could find some non-drug treatments for it and found a suggestion for rib-expanding breathing, sitting up straight (which I already do), intercostal massage, and some mentioned but not described pilates and yoga moves.

Has anyone successfully treated rib pain with pilates or yoga moves? Or any other self-administered, drug-free methods? If so, help!!!

I am finding expanding my ribs with deep breaths does help a bit. Except it makes me feel a bit dizzy, and it makes Blobby squirm more.

I've had this exact pain several times this pregnancy. Once it was so bad I actually called dh at work and told him I didn't know if I was going to pass out because it hurt so much to breathe.

I don't want to sound redundant as a chiropractor but that's actually what helped. Sometimes the vertebrae in the mid-back get misaligned in such a way as to change the articulation of that vertebrae with its corresponding rib. And that changes/stresses the muscles between the ribs and can cause painful muscles spasms.

I really can't suggest anything other than seeing a chiropractor and specifically asking them to check if you have a rib out... because that's what works for me.

Good luck.
