i am trying to cut down even more on the number of different things i buy. i know they recommend using one drop on your toothbrush. i though i could get a squeeze bottle and put peppermint bronners mixed w/bs in it. i guess one drop couldnt get too foamy, but still...my mom was not one bit into GD, so i got to taste dawn detergent many times. i cant imagine even peppermint bronners could taste good? does anyone do this?

I can't even imagine it, but I'm lurking to see if anyone does it.

Cause you know, if my friends jumped off a high building...

I'd stand at the top laughing. (Not.)

DH and I just use Baking Soda as toothpaste. Works just as well as the store bought stuff. We just keep it in a little container on our bathroom counter and dip our toothbrushes in. I know that isn't what you really asked for...I just can't imagine using soap, so, thought I'd chime in if you wanted an inexpensive and "regular household item" alternative :LOL :LOL

HTH.

Blessed Be!

You should just try it once, the worst thing that can happen, is it would taste gross and you'd rinse it out. LOL I did that once, just to see. Peppermint Bronner's SMELLS really nice, but on the tongue it has a very soapy taste, so I never did it again. Guess some of us are more curious than others? LOL!

A friend of mine tried this for several weeks and her lovely white teeth turned brownish.

ACK!!!! No way! You don't want to use soap to clean your teeth - toothpaste contains polishers and scrubbers to get the plaque, tartar, etc. off your teeth and get them shiny. Regular soap ain't gonna do it. I use Kiss My Face, and love it.

I have done it, and it really wasn't that bad. I lived in a tent for two months and dr. b's peppermint was my only soap, shampoo, toothpaste, dish soap. it seemed to work fine to me. My hair got some build up for sure, but I never noticed any problems with teeth, they stayed white. My dentist says that if you are brushing properly with a good toothbrush (he recommends a rotadent- I love it ) you actually don't need anything. Baking soda gives a nice polish, but other than that it's all hype. I personally like the minty tingle and use kiss my face.
