I'm not quite sure when I'll see my midwife (homebirth). Maybe around 8-10 weeks. I don't have any problem making an appt with her and the worst that happens is I get to the appt a few minutes before her and have to visit with the cool mw apprentice.

That's one of my favorite parts about not seeing a doctor, no sitting in a waiting room filled with pg magazines with formula ads popping out everywhere! :LOL
mamabeakley- neither of my kids liked the doppler either. They always moved away from it. I admit that I'm anxious to hear a heartbeat though.

I won't be having an u/s this time around though. With dd I had one at 20 weeks and one at 28 weeks when I didn't feel her move for a few hours and then the nurse couldn't pick up her heartbeat with the doppler.

With ds I had one at 8 weeks and one at 19 weeks. They definitely overdo it IMO since I'm not high risk or anything.
