How do you remove rust from a washing machine? We have little rust stains on a lot of our clothes and dd's cd. I also noticed the inside of the lid is beginning to rust. please help. Kristin

We have a lot of iron in our well, and I find the best thing to do for my appliances is to run a *lot* of vinegar through an empty cycle - you could also use a cloth dampened with vinegar to wipe off the rust spots on the lid. I have to do this every month or so, but it pays off...
