I feel awful posting in the midst of so much terrible news
but do want to share my story with the due date club.
I went into labor Tuesday afternoon, but I kept doubting myself. After five hours the ctrx were painful and I decided I should go to the hospital, since I had planned on pain meds (for the first time) for this delivery. At the hospital I got an insane nurse who kept alternating between being very nice and very mean. My midwife was amazing and supportive. I started shaking uncontrollably around 7 cm, which is when the anaesthesiologist was able to give me an epidural-- he'd been busy in the OR, or I would have gotten it earlier. I had never had one before (this is my 5th child, my others were all unmedicated) and the midwife held me in a bear hug while it was administered. Once it was in, they told me to lie down and I felt an incredible wave of pain relief. They turned down the lights and the midwife and nasty nurse left the room. I felt myself enter this blissful realm where I literally felt like I was floating next to my baby and guiding her into the world. About an hour after the epidural was administered, the baby was starting to crown with no effort on my part. I gave a couple pushes and there she was, on my chest. It was beautiful and amazing.
Blessings to you all and may your babies come to you safely!!

baby Acadia! Congrats momma. Enjoy your babymoon!

How frustrating that your nurse was weird
: --I'm glad you had a good birth despite this.
