Deoderant Help

I have asked for helpin the past and I need it again. I have tried several "natural" deoderants and I have had horrible results.

Tom's of Maine: broke out in a rash
Kiss my Face Roll on: Got all over my clothes and it didn't work for me
Jason: Did not work for me
Alba: Didn't work for me
Nature's Gate: Worked really well, but I broke out in a rash.

I need help. I think I'm allergic to the lavendar or something in the "gel." I have had to go back to Soft and Dry and I hate it. It smells like yucky perfume. I'd like to buy deoderant and not have to make it. ANy other brands out there? Maybe a solid?

I am in the same boat...I have only tried one so far though-kiss my face. It smells good, but is sticky and didn't seem to do alot.

Have you tried just using witch hazel or rubbing alcohol?

First of all, I want to send out a general thanks to all the mamas here who told me about rubbing alcohol.

I have always had a problem with deodorant and break-outs. Since I have started using rubbing alcohol (sometimes I mix it with witch hazel, too), I have had no breakouts, no problems with dry skin, and longer-lasting odor control. And it is significantly cheaper to boot. Of course, this is my own situation, but it really is worth a try.

I am a believer in the crystal deodorant. The spray works best for me. I love it love it. The actual crystal is okay but doesn't seem to work as well, and kind of itches if I've just shaved. It has no fragrance, which is a huge plus for me.

I like the crystal also and I have a Burt's Bees deoderant that is made with sage and something else (I don't think it is lavender). It sprays on and does a lovely job for me!

Weleda Spray Deodorant

I tried a tonne of different "natural" deodorants... and I LOVE Weleda Spray Deodorant... there are three kinds... Sage, Citrus and Rose... Rose is more expensive than the other two.

They just recently changed their packaging to a flat glass bottle rather than a round plastic one.

I found it in Canada first but I'm in Connecticut now and found it at Nature's Way... they only natural store around these parts

You do have to reapply but it's designed for that.

Try it, I love it!

I am a serious stinker, and none of the natural deoderants works for me (including the crystal stone thing). Plain old alcohol or witch hazel works pretty well, but my favorite is my own concoction - 2/3 witch hazel, 1/3 aloe gel (I have sensitive skin, and this seems to keep it gentle), tea tree, lavender, grapefruit and peppermint e.o.s (in a baby food jar I use about 15 drops lav, 3 tea tree, 5 grapefruit and 1 pepp). With plain witch hazel I have to reapply, but with this recipe I'm good all day (well, most days).

eta: I've been putting it in a baby food jar and just dunking my fingers in, but I'm going to find a roll-on bottle somewhere...

I really like the crystal one too. It's the only deodorant that works for me, conventional or natural. I used to think it didn't work and then I figured out that when I wet my pits I have to rub it on until my pits are dry. Does that make sense? When I just put it on and let the rest of the water dry on its own it doesn't work for me.

With rubbing alcohol, I'd be concerned about the acetone/other denaturing ingredients ethyl rubbing alcohol contains, plus isopropyl rubbing alcohol is petroleum-based.

The only stuff that seems to work well for me is Tom's Anti-perspirant, but Whole Foods no longer carries it.

Just to find out if Tom's stopped making it, I checked and found this:

FDA!

I wish Tom's would still make it and rename it so those of us who like it could still get it!
