I get dandruff occasionally and I dont wanna use Head n SHoulders or something.Any Natural products out there that you know are effective?I have Burts Bees "Feelin Flaky" and it doesnt help.....I guess if you have had LOTS of luck with a regular product I would be interested.I just wanna have a NON itchy scalp!

I had that problem too, but then started adding Tea Tree Oil to my homemade shampoo and it has helped a lot.

Use an apple cider vinegar rinse after you shampoo. I keep acv diluted with a little water in a spray bottle in the shower and spray my scalp down after I rinse the conditioner out...then I rinse that out with cool water. You can add tto or rosemary oil to the vinegar. Mint is also useful for clearing up dandruff...steep fresh mint in boiling water and then mix it with acv.

I have really dry scalp in just one place on my head. I'm guilty of using head and shoulders also, but seem to have noticed a difference since taking flaxseed oil and other EFAs.

I have a bit of a dandruff problem in the winter months. I have also had GREAT success w/ tea tree oil! I don't add it myself, I just buy TTO shampoo at the co-op. I bet we could save some $ though if we added TTO to another shampoo

What may help is a shampoo without any residue in it--and they can be hard to find. The one I know of is a dreadlock shampoo--leaves your hair extraordinarily clean. So the natural balance of your scalp isnt messed up by all the additives in most shampoos. One trick is--wash your hands with a little shampoo, rinse them well, then if theres any smell that shampoo leaves residue. Once you have a plain shampoo-you could add essential oils---I think geranium balances sebum production, and patchouli is good for dry skin---sounds like it would be a nice smelling combo too!!
