Lost my plug, woohoo!

I mean, I know in the grand scheme of things it really means very little, but it never happened when I was PG with Bella, and I went 11 days overdue and was eventually induced. So even this little bit of normal pregnancy progress has me excited :LOL However, it seems to be the only excitement I'll see today. I can definitely feel the baby is lower, and the past few days I've been having a lot of what feels like really STRONG (but not really painful) BH contractions with a little back pressure built in, and today I'm having fewer of those, and instead of having the back pressure, I feel more in my lower abdomen and groin. Hopefully that's a sign that baby has turned the right way for launch! I think I'll start the internal applications of EPO tomorrow night, after we get Bella's family birthday party officially out of the way.

Was it all one big chunk or little pieces? A friend lost hers all at once and said it was a 2" long banana slug. I have lost a few little pieces. Just curious. I was hoping for a banana slug, personally, so I could really gross out dh.

Congrats!

Personally I think it means more if you loose it all in one big plunk. :LOL

I've been loosing mine for weeks... so for me it hasn't meant anything, but I know alot of people who have lost it all at once and then gone into labour within days.

Melissel,

That's great news. Shell Ell, I sure hope you're right about the big clump theory. I am soooo ready to deliver.

After having my membranes swept on Thursday (the mw insist my due date was 8/29...so I decided to go ahead and hope labor begins before a Pit drip on Tuesday), I lost a huge, red clump of show. Since then, there have been about 3 gigantic white & pink, gummy, sticky mucus clumps. I have been happily charting my cm for years, but this stuff kinda grossed me out!

LOL, my dh can handle anything with pregnancy EXCEPT the plug! I've even told my midwive not to ask me about it when he's around. LOL Poor guy get so grossed out over that.

Ive lost parts of my plug over the last month-6 weeks almost....it's getting old. If I could just get all the poop out of me then I think I'd go into labor. I'm afraid to try an enema for fear I won't poop but will go into labor LOL

I don't think you can not poop after an enema. I'd try it. There's no room for extra poop in there.

hooray!

That's great news! I'd thought that mine had fallen out a couple of weeks ago, but on friday night my son made me laugh so hard...and plop! About a quarter cupful of goop fell out. Since then, bits of slightly yellowish goop have been coming out, some with streaks of brown (old blood, maybe?). It does feel promising...and my BHs had been getting stronger, so maybe, maybe soon? I'm so tired of waiting (and seriously tired of the BHs), that it's great to have a milestone like this to hold on to, ya know?

LOL about the banana slug! I'm so glad it didn't look like that, I don't think I could have handled it! It just looked like a lot of mucous, with some brown mixed in, and then I went to the bathroom a little bit later and got more, this time with a little bright red blood mixed in. Since then I've felt this babe moving lower and lower--went to tinkle this evening and almost yelped in pain, the pressure was suddenly so intense! And I just lost some more a little while ago. These contractions are pretty hard core, though not regular or anything, so I think I'll be taking a shower before I go to bed, just in case!

And ugh, doulamommy, that's got to be the worst. I have the opposite problem--within 5 minutes of waking up every morning, I practically have to sprint for the bathroom. I would try the enema too, if only to feel better and cleaned out somewhat.

I lost some more plug. Woke up with a ball of yellow mucus in my underwear and another big ball in the toilet.

I hope you are pushing that baby out right now, Melissel.
